Where Does a Brake Controller Plug In on a 2014 Coachman Leprechaun Class C on Ford E-450 Chassis

Published 07/01/2015

Question:

I have a 2014 Coachman Leprechaun Class C motorhome with an E-450 Ford chassis which has a 7 pole connector at the back of the hitch. All of the lights work ok on a trailer but I cant find out where to hook up a brake controller under the dash? The dealer said it is there somewhere but I have removed the engine cover and cover from the bottom of the driver side dash and it does not look like any pictures you show from other units? I am looking for a plug with red/white/blue/black wires but dont see any. Also I am looking for a recommendation on what type of controller to purchase not too expensive but easy to mount and adjust.

The port to plug in a brake controller on a Ford E-450 van chassis using harness # 3034-P is located to the left of the brake pedal and forward towards the lower left corner of the floorboards. I have linked a video that should help.

For a brake controller I recommend a proportional model for the best and safest braking. You can use the Primus # TK90160 which has the same internal parts as the original Prodigy. I have linked a video review of the Primus for you.
