Question:
I have a 2013 Acura RDX and It does not have a trailer package. im going to buy the curt triflex controller. Is there a controller connector to plug the controller into or will i have to run wiring to the battery etc. If I have to run the wiring do you have any videos or information for a 2013 Acura RDX or any Idea how to run the wires from inside to the battery. Ive looked and there is not an easy way to route the wires. Help!!!!

The Acura RDX doesn't have the provision for plugging in a brake controller. The controller would need to be hardwired using our Brake Controller install kit part # ETBC7 and the Curt pigtail, part # C51515.
To install the 7-way trailer connector, a functional 4-pole trailer connector is needed. You can install one using part # 118569. The 4 pole to 7-way adapter provided with the ETBC7 kit will plug into the 4-pole, and will have 4 remaining wires that need to be connected. Ground the white wire to the vehicle frame. The black wire will carry 12-volt accessory power to the trailer if needed. This wire connects to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp breaker included in the kit. The blue wire connects to the output from the brake controller. The purple wire would tap into the reverse light circuit of the vehicle to power reverse lamps on the trailer. If the trailer doesn't have reverse lamps, you can just tape off the end of the wire and tuck it up out of the way.
The wiring is ran under the vehicle to the engine compartment and through the firewall into the engine compartment. Usually, there'll be an existing grommet in the firewall you can use, just use a sharp knife to poke a hole in the grommet.
I don't have any video footage of a controller being installed on a RDX, but the install kit is pretty universal. I'll link you to a video showing the kit being installed on a Honda CR-V-the procedure on your vehicle will be pretty similar. I'll also link you to the instructions for the install kit and some FAQ articles you might find helpful.
