Availability of Flat Mount Coupler With 5" Mounting Hole Spacing

Question:
I have a trailer with a flat plate bolt on tongue for 2 5-16” ball. I am wanting to replace it since the latch is worn /damaged. All the flat plate options I see have 4.5” bolt hole spacing. My trailer has 5” bolt hole spacing left to right and bolt hole spacing every 2” up/down. Is there any option that can fit my trailer. It is a Butler brand trailer

Hey Scott! The 4-1/2" spacing you’re seeing on the # DM79FR is the standard bolt pattern used on most flat mount couplers. Unfortunately, we do not carry a coupler that matches your 5" horizontal spacing with the mounting holes 2" apart on center.
Your best option would be to either modify/redrill the existing mounting plate to fit a standard coupler, or have a certified welder install a new coupler like the Demco on the trailer.
What are you typically hauling on your Butler trailer?
