Expert Reply:

The spacing will depend on the axle diameter and on which particular spring hanger kit you use.

If you have a 6000 lb 3 inch diameter axle, and you're using the # APT5 hanger kit which includes 7-3/4 inch equalizers and 2-5/8 inch shackle straps (which are the correct size for dual axle trailers, 3-1/8 inch shackles are usually used on single axle trailers) , the center to center distance between the front and center and center and rear hanger is 29-1/2 inches. The center to center axle spacing between the front and rear axle would be 33-1/2 inches, as shown in the diagram I've provided.

I've also linked you to our suspension FAQ article, which you might find helpful.

If your axle diameter and hanger kit you're using are different, please get back with me.
