Hanger Spacing Needed for 25-1/4" Leaf Spring on Single Axle Trailer

Question:

I am replacing the suspension on my tandem axle trailer and need to know the spacing of the hangers. The springs I bought to replace the old ones with are 25 1/4 center to center. How far apart should I space the hangers?

Hey Noah, thanks for reaching out!

According to my research, you'll need your hangers spaced 24-7/8" apart on center in order for the 25-1/8" Long 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e54SR to sit properly.

Is there anything else you're needing to replace/upgrade while you're at it?

How can the center to center hanger spacing be less than the leaf spring eye to eye distance on a tandem axle setup? You have the equalizer in there too...

@Scott hmm yea I am not sure where Jon got that number from but for a tandem axle trailer using 25-1/8" springs and a standard equalizer the hanger spacing should be around 29". Keep in mind this is just a ballpark number and the best practice is to mock everything up with the parts you have and make sure it all lines up.
