The head portion of the Reese 18K Select Plus Fifth Wheel Hitch is height adjustable from 14 to 18 inches above the floor of the truck bed.
To raise the head, remove the bolts that attach it to the support legs of the hitch, and reattach using the upper holes.
For safety, you will need at least 6 inches of clearance between the top of the truck side rails and the bottom of the trailer loft. I have included a link to the installation details, in case you no longer have them.

Hi! I have a 2008 Keystone Cougar 278 RKS and a very steep driveway. I can back my 5W almost all the way up until I get to the crest and I run out of clearance between the bed rails and the underside of the trailer. Is there an easier way besides unbolting the hitch and raising it the 4” I need to clear the crest and not make contact between truck and trailer? Looking for something adjustable and quick, user friendly as well. Thanks in advance!
