How to Adjust Height of Fifth Wheel Hitch

Question:

Hitch is in old tundra truck new tundra has bed sides 4 inches higher can i use the same hitch? How to adjust if i can?

Expert Reply:

The head portion of the Reese 18K Select Plus Fifth Wheel Hitch is height adjustable from 14 to 18 inches above the floor of the truck bed.

To raise the head, remove the bolts that attach it to the support legs of the hitch, and reattach using the upper holes.

For safety, you will need at least 6 inches of clearance between the top of the truck side rails and the bottom of the trailer loft. I have included a link to the installation details, in case you no longer have them.
