Question:
I have a 2008 Monaco Knight motor home and I need to install an electric brake controller for my trailers. The motor home has been pre-wired with a brake harness plug, but I havent being able to find a matching plug. I would prefer a matching plug, but if not available I will require a male/female plug which I can wire in between the controller and the motor home. I have two separate trailers that I plan to pull one at a time one is a 10,000 lb. 22foot enclosed and the other is a 7,500 lb. open aluminum trailer, both trailers are tandem axel. Can you recommend an electric controller and wiring harness?

Let's start with the brake controller. My personal recommendation is for the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, # 90195. This is a customer favorite because of how easy it is to setup and how well it works.
Now for the wiring. Although your 2008 Monaco Knight motor home is pre-wired with a plug for a brake controller, I do not have a wiring harness with plug that has been confirmed to fit. In this case I recommend using Quick Splice Wire Connector, # SWC501915-1, to connect the wires from the controller's pigtail harness to the wires behind the brake controller plug. By using the quick splice connectors, you leave the vehicle wiring intact.
I have included a short video and installation instructions for you.
