When it comes to removing the 7-way on your 1999 Ford F-150, there should be a grey locking clip like what is in the picture that I have attached. You'll just need to use a screwdriver to push that clip back slightly and slide it off. Once that is done you will be able to press down on the center clip and pull the harness off.

For a replacement connector take a look at the Reese Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 74682, which will provide you with as 7-way and 4-way connector.
