I called Cequent, the manufacturer, and have an answer for you regarding the Bulldog Cast Head Coupler with Wedge Latch - 2-5/16 inch Ball - Flat Plate Mount - 20,000 pounds, # BD4420000317. The bolt holes are 5/8 inches.
This Coupler can also be welded into position. To weld the coupler, an experienced welder (with experience in welding cast steel) is required along with special electrodes to complete a weld installation.
In case you need the distance between bolt holes, it is 4-1/2 inches from center of one hole to the center of another.
