How to Install Hand Rail AHR4 with a 24 Inch Camper Door
Updated 03/29/2010 | Published 03/25/2010 >
Question:
If my door to the camper is 24 inches and my scissor steps are 20 inches wide, do they have to be positioned to favor the side that the rail is to be attached? Or can the stairs be centered and the rail at an angle? Also which side would the rail be attached to. The hinge or latch side? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The # AHR4 hand rail attaches directly to the end of the scissor steps on one side, and the other side mounts beside your camper door.
You will want to install the scissor steps closer to the latch side of the door, so that you will have room for the mounting bracket on the hand rail to mount properly beside your door.
The latch side of the door would be the best place to install the hand rail, so that the door will not come in contact with the rail as it swings open.
