How to Install a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2010 Chevy Tahoe

Question:
Was able to simply plug-n-play a brake controller + wiring on my 2002 Chevrolet 1500 HD pickup. I heard the PnP is no longer available for the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe and wires must be spliced in, plus there are additional wires under the dash to hook up as well?? Any video to show how, where and what wires? Is the install difficult or a specialty where I should take to a dealer?

Chevy stopped using a port to plug in a brake controller after the 2006 model year. The tow package wires to install a brake controller are still present up under the dash, to the left of the steering column, held together with a white tag.
The wires on your 2010 Chevy Tahoe are red/black for 12 volt power, white for ground, light blue with white for input from the brake switch, dark blue for output to the trailer brakes, and orange which will not be used.
You will connect the Chevy red/black wire to the controller black. White goes to white. Light blue/white goes to controller red. And dark blue on the Tahoe goes to blue on the brake controller.
In addition to these connections you may also need to make some connections under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have linked a help article that explains everything. I have linked a video as well that should help. Installation is easy, you will not have to take it to a dealer or shop for installation.
