The battery box was very easy to install. The existing rails on my trailer were too narrow, but the battery box included all of the hardware needed for installing cross rails and the box. Looks great on the front of the camper and was a perfect fit for my two new GC2 batteries.

by:

Not cheap, but well worth the money! I recently transferred the box to a new travel trailer and had fortunately kept all the original accessories. Given those mounting parts, the (re-)installation was a breeze.

by:

Quality is solid! Mounting hardware gives you everything you will require for a solid install. Lock works well in all conditions (below freezing). Great fit for 2 new Trojan T105’s AGM 6 V.

But, like other reviews the batteries will require some custom work to secure them in the box. The straps they provide are temporary! For the price of this item it should have something better. I used a single heavy strap that took some time and adjustments weaving it through the bottom slats and then moving the batteries accordingly till the batteries were solid.

It has been a year since my install and I am very pleased with this addition.

by:

I ordered this product on a holiday, it shipped that day, and I got it two days later. This is the second item I've purchased from this company and the second time they have exceeded expectations on shipping. Also, the box is exactly as described, measurements are precise and it fits perfectly.

It has been a year since we ordered and installed the box. It has added a nice touch to the trailer and we are very pleased with the product.

by:

Puts a little bling on the camper and is built very solid

by:

Well constructed, perfect install items. Easily installed in minutes. Extremely happy with this product.

by:

Fabulous. Well made, simple to mount. Clean and tidy. I have 2 Group 27 12V batteries. Just enough room, c/w tie-down straps (included). I added an isolation switch and resettable fused overload for the power tongue unit on the exterior, along with a solar panel receptacle. All work great. Clean, tidy, and secure.

by:

Bolted to back of RV on bumper for add'l coach batteries. So now I have four in parallel. Some slight modification to box and all works perfect.

Love the lock mechanism.

The product exceeded my expectations. One recommendation though. Being as it is used for batteries, you should ask the purchaser if they would like the inside of the cavity coated with a non static rubber base. As I did this myself, it prevents any positive leads from touching the case and creating aark. Use that is you would.Otherwise its is an excellent product.

by:

Despite some confusion on the measurements that required clarification from etrailer support when I ordered, I'm very happy with this battery box. It fits two Expertpower 100AH LiPO4 batteries (slightly shorter BCI Group 31) perfectly, with enough play to get them in and out with heavy gauge wiring. The box is plenty strong enough to stand on, convenient for loading the top rack of the camper. The powder coating is a nice quality and has held up over the past year.

Mounted on a Forest River Rockwood 1970ESP without issue

by:

This is a really nice battery box and is exactly as described. Our new batteries are quite expensive, so it's really nice that this box also locks. We received it within a week but haven't installed it on our trailer yet, so I can't provide a picture.

I want to add that customer service is fantastic! A rarity these days.

It works great! The lock can be tricky, but that is the only issue weve had.

by:

It holds two 27 series renagoy batteries. It is a tight fit would be nice to have a little more length for these type of batteries.

by:

As you requested

by:

This battery box exceeded my expectation. It is well built and was easy to install. Customer service rep George J. went above and beyond to ensure I had an excellent experience with your company.

by:

The battery box arrived a day earlier than expected and was in great shape. Lot's of mounting options with hardware included. I have to point out that they provide first class hardware for mounting. Much better than what you would get at the big box hardware store etc. The battery box looks great, is very well built and easy to install. Exactly what i was looking for.

by:

Best purchase ever. I have two 6 volt golf cart batteries and constructed a center console out of PVC trim board to support the terminal block and shunt. Very happy with the install and quality of product. It fit on the factory rails/angles. Thanks etrailer!

by:

I looked in a lot of places before I found this battery box. It is exactly what I wanted. It is well-made and secure. I do not worry about my batteries being stolen while in this box and mounted to my trailer. Great quality great price!

by:

Great Product. Included everything required to install on a variety of configurations. It was easy to install on top of the a-frame of my camper. The batteries fit perfectly. The pass-through hole for the battery cables seemed a bit sharp. A grommet would have been nice, but a pool noodle fit OK. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the price - it isn't cheap.

After a year the box still performs flawlessly. But the real story is the customer service. I set weight distribution bars against the locked lid and lowered the camper, breaking the locking mechanism on the lid. This was 100 my fault. I called the company to buy a new lid and they sent me one for free. The first one didnt fit, I contacted them again offering to pay to return the first lid and they sent me another lid for free and told me just to keep the first one. This was outstanding customer service. Ill give them five stars now.

by:

Excellent Product, Well built and sturdy. Processing and shipping time was slower that I would like (Ordered on June 7 didn't even ship until June 13 arrived July 2nd to Alberta Canada) But installation was a breeze and I am happy with the product!

by:

Fit well. Had to mound a board to the frame because it was too wide to fit in available battery brackets. Our Imagine has too much of a slope which interferes but we are pleased with how it turned out. Looks much cleaner than what we had and our propane cover now fits. Thank you. Worth the price.

by:

I installed this on the front of my travel trailer to provide security for my dual batteries. Great box, very well built and looks nice. Comes with hardware and clear instructions for different mounting options. Only negative is the lock, which came keyed to the very common CH751 key. Google CH751 and you will find that everyone probably has this key who has an RV, gas cap, etc., which negates the otherwise great security the box provides. I opted to replace the lock with a higher security tubular keyed lock. The lock is easy to replace, but plan on spending an additional $20 or for a different lock. I also mounted a battery switch on the side of the box.

by:

This is a great product. Well built, easy to install because all the extras need were included with the box.(including battery hold-downs and mat for the bottom. Construction of the box was very good with tight rivets.
Would highly recommend this box. One of the few that hold 2 group 27 batteries.

We took a 7000 mile 82 day adventure and the box looks and operates as good as the day we installed it..

by:

I purchased this battery box and installed it almost two years ago. It is expensive, but very well worth it. I installed it to carry two 6V batteries because we do a lot of dry camping and need the durable battery power. The box looks great installed and provided excellent protection from thieves. I installed interior hold down brackets to insure the batteries do not move during travel. I can't take claim to the install, I copied someone that had previously put this install online. It works perfect and is a very clean install. I've had many people comment that the factory should have this as an option. I added an additional lock, the the lock on the right side is not adequate and is keyed to a CH751 lock that's on every trailer out there. Not secure at all. With the added lock I'm very confident my batteries are safe. Well worth it!!

by:

Anyone looking at this well made solid box. Needs to look at the dimensions carefully. Not all trailer tongues are the same. I new that and modified to fit. Very happy with this box

The box was perfect for my 2 batterys. The trailer didnt accommodates for batterys like that. RV manufacturer should consider building a tounge that would.

@Neil I'm glad it worked out well for you! What kind of trailer do you have the batteries on?

by:

Great box. Much better solution than a cheap tongue storage box. Installing this on a small Brinkley and I cant use the supplied mounts. I had to fabricate my own. Space inside the a-frame is too tight. Need a mount that will allow the box to go forward enough to contact the a-frame.

by:

Exactly as described. I like that there were multiple ways to mount with all the hardware you would need. My 2 Group 31 lithium batteries fit just fine and unlike another brand having the hole for the battery cables on the top make perfect sense. But I’m not sure why this box is so expensive.

  • Carrying 2 Batteries and 2 Propane Tanks on a Trailer Tongue
Propane tanks can't be store inside of an enclosed container like a toolbox. If they build enough pressure it has to vent out to open air. That is why the plastic propane tank covers you see on trailers are open at the bottom. I recommend a traditional dual tank cover, # CAM40532, for the propane tanks so you are nice and safe there. The batteries can go into a box. I recommend box # TLA7708R which is designed for batteries. It is 26-3/4 inches long, 8-3/16 inches wide, and 13 inches tall...

The closest thing we have is the TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box # TLA7708R which measures 26-3/4" long x 8-3/16" wide x 13" tall and as you can see from customer pictures the batteries fit in there pretty snug.
