Product material and build is solid. Easy to install. I like the smoke colored cover, lets in the right amount of sun (we dry camp in the Southwest a lot). The fit between screen and frame with the open/close knob was off by about 1/4 inch in depth. Was able to adjust the knob mounting position down so as to insure a tight fit between screen and beauty ring. We have an eighteen-year-old rig, so it is challenging to find replacement parts that fit as original. But it fits great now! great web site - easy to drill down to appropriate parts. Thanks again. 480020

This product got great reviews, and I'm not sure why. I was very disappointed in this vent. First, etrailer shipped it with the sealant on top of the unit and damaged it (still haven't heard back from them). Aside from that, the unit is supposed to be smoke. I thought some light inside my pop-up would be nice, and maybe the white unit I had before wouldn't look so dirty all the time if it was smoke. Outside it looks gray. Inside it looks blue. When the sun shines on it, it makes the inside of the trailer look rather depressing and blue. The lid itself is very flimsy, and flexes in the wind. While traveling, the flex allowed the vent to come out of the channel even while fully closed. It was a fun in-camp fix and I was thankful it didn't rain. The seal that goes around the rim does not stay on, and I am constantly pushing it back down (removing the screen to do so, reaching my arm through the hole and pushing it back on). IF I keep this thing, I will replace that lumpy weatherstripping with my own. Note: The new garnish (trim) did not work with my popup. I used my old garnish and cleaned it up with plastic polish and it worked well. It wouldn't have worked as well if I broke the old trim, so keep all your parts if you decide to get this thing. I didn't see any alternatives for the price on etrailer, but may shop around if the lid comes apart again on my next trip out. 411011

Vent was easy to install, really didn't need the instructions. I would have appreciated a template for the hole though. That way I can just throw the template up and cut along it. A recommendation to reinforce the underside with something (I used 2x2s) might be helpful as well. You do say to align it with a joist, but who's really going to have multiple joists within 14 1/2" from each other? Otherwise, it looks great. I figured you have multiple images of the vent itself so I figured an image of how I reinforced it would be the most helpful for future installers. Thank you. Aaron 175537

I absolutely love my new vents! We did find that the trim piece was too deep for our folding camper, but that problem was easily solved by trimming off what we did not need. We will also have to remove the handles when we fold the camper up, but that is no big deal for me. My husband had no problem installing the electrical for the upgraded vent we purchased. I do however wish that there were screw buttons to cover the screws, my husband is known as the "Silicon King" and made his own buttons with dabs of silicon...trust me not the prettiest look! 186525

This is the second vent I have purchased to replace plastic vents that degraded in the Phoenix sun. I didn't have my battery operated drill driver as I started to prep for the job, so as I began to dissemble the original I realized I could leave the original base and just replace the hood and mechanism. This changed a two hour job into a 15 min. Job and less time in 110 deg. Heat. Good quality product. 138159

Installed easy, works as it should. I did end up installing a piece of rubber weatherstripping where it closes because the plastic channel seal they include doesn't really seal great in high wind situations. Not a big deal. This will last the life of the trailer and is way better than the domed plastic one I destroyed when backing the trailer into my garage. This one clears my 8' door perfectly. 560646

I recently ordered and installed this. I had a plastic cover on the last one and a hail storm demolished it. I dont need the light so I went with the aluminum cover. This was very easy to install and fit perfect. I was back down the road with my trailer in about 45 minutes. Thanks etrailer. 137358

This vent still works as advertised. It has a been through many different storms with no leaks and no damage. These should be installed right out of the factory with this aluminum cover.

I bought this vent because it was low profile ,metal, manual operation and made in the USA. It was easier to install than I thought it would be ; because of the contours in the cap. No problem. The flange was wide enough and the gauge thick enough to make the contour perfectly. I used 100% clear silicone to make the seal.I'll paint it as soon as temperatures get back to normal. I highly recommend this unit. 275475

installed on aluminum A.R.E. DCU truck cap. Did not use the screw or caulk tape kit since the screws were far to long and the caulking is for rubber roofs. As it is, the smallest screws I found in size #8 were 1/2" long. THe trim piece might be nice but it also reduces the head room in the space. i elected to not use it for that reason. THe metal vent cover is what i wanted, though I wish they had smoothed the covers edge; it is sharp for the installer. But once installed it wont be an issue. The screen is okay, but doesn't seem to completely cover the openings along the edge. If this was a concern, maybe a bit of 1/4" wide foam, backed with tape would make up the difference. I prefer this type vent assy. with the round knob instead of the crank. A cardboard template would have been helpful, but obviously not necessary. With luck it will last half as long as the truck cap ... we'll see. 550100

This vent fit my need perfectly to replace a damaged, rusty and irreparable one in my 50 year old newly purchased camper. Etrailer.com was easy to find and order and they were very prompt with my order. The vent was easy to install and once I sealed it according to their instructions and with additional roof work being completed I have no more roof leaks! I also have a good looking, easy to use vent for my camper. I will be doing more business with this company in the future as I tackle other repairs on my camper. Thanks etrailer.com! 291780

This was an exact match with my existing, but badly hail-damaged roof vents. Even the pre-drilled screw holes on the exterior flange perfectly matched the existing screw holes in the roof. The old vents were solidly caulked and sealed to the metal roof, so removal was a bear! Lacquer Thinner worked great to remove all traces of the old sealing tape from the roof. On the bathroom vent, I found that the interior trim piece vertical flange was too long and wouldn't seal against the ceiling, possibly due to some variation on how the ceiling/roof was constructed. I used a sanding disc, then a very sharp razor knife to remove about 3/8" of material to finish the installation. 431158

The metal roof vent came in perfect shape, although it was packed in a box without any padding- maybe that shows how strong it is! It was easy to install, looks great, and matches my old 70's Prowler trailer with the retro metal look. Remember, if you want light in your trailer, don't go for metal. If the 6 a.m. sun bothers you and you like to sleep in during the summer camping months, this will help keep the light out if you have it in your bed area, because it is room darkening. I received this in just 3 days using the inexpensive shipping, that was a bonus. 151805

Bought this to replace one that had a plastic lid chewed off by squirrels. It's an excellent product. Only complaint I have is that the interior trim ring is made for a much thicker roof than on my trailer. I could have cut it down but luckily the ring for the vent I was replacing fit perfectly. etrailer.com sells shorter depth trim rings but it would be better to not have to spend the extra money and allow selection of trim ring size when ordering. This was the only reason I didn’t give an excellent rating. 167829

A bit better constructed than the roof vent I purchased this one to replace. One minor point however: one of the screws on the inside was missing. However, my old broken vent has exactly the same screw in place, so I've already got one. One edge of the metal fitting that lies on top of the van roof was slightly bent. Don't know if that happened in transit or no. However, I can easily bend the crimp out myself. Otherwise, a fine van vent to put on top of my old Ford Econoline. 452229

I bought two of these for my steel roof 1969 Clark Cortez motorhome. I actually ordered the 2nd one after buying and installing the first, so I am a repeat customer with this particular vent. Shipped to my door for cheaper than a vintage supply website offered the exact vent for replacements on vintage airstreams and other trailers. The installation was simple. Looks clean and I LOVE the metal vents. No early morning sunlight over my head in my eyes when camping. :) :) :) 85683

My 76 timberline 25ft travel trailer needed a little TCL after a few years of neglect and these new vents (3) will make the trailer seem just like new again. In the process of putting on the Butyl Putty Tape so that after I replace a couple of rotted boards I will be ready to install these beautiful vents. The plastic screen comes off with a Phillips to make installation easy. Using some roofing screws with rubber grommets, Henry's Rubber wet patch to cover the screws and some Henry's solar-flex white roof coating as a finishing touch. Hopefully--I will not have any leaks. 72951

Five stars to E-Trailer for processing my order same day and getting it on UPS Ground where it took the three days to get delivered in time for my install on the weekend. I'm assuming this product deserves 5 stars as well since it is what it was advertised to be. My only minor ding is for the two missing screws that are needed to hold the screen in place. The $20 for the 'installation kit' shipped a tube of urethane caulking two sets of screws, one for the mounting topside (plenty, thank you) and the bottom ones for the trim. But did not see the short 1/2"? for the screen. I had to use my old ones, one of which fell down a floor vent so I need to hit up a hardware store for it. The vent went in with little effort. Just took my time scraping off the old caulking and used plumbers putty, instead of the caulking for under the flange (in case I have to rip this up again). The tube provided just enough for a thick coat of goo to cover the flange and where it meets the roof. I have a rubber roof, so this was perfect. I'll rate the other things I purchased once I install and use them. 193896

The vent is working fine. It makes about the same amount of noise as the original one did. The knob is a little shorter than the original crank, so a little harder to reach for my wife, whos shorter than me. The vent works very good. Just ordered another one minus the fan for the front of the trailer.

I love my new metal vent! My auto is a Ford 2007 E350 Super Extended cab with 138,0000+ miles which I also love not the miles but the Van. Living here in the Rocky Mountains above the sleepy town of Las Vegas New Mexico a metal vent was essential as we have surprise hail storms even in the summer time which last year whiped out a record of windshields and metal house roofs! The installation has awarded me as "Poster Child for the Unprepared'! My jig saw brand , a "Rigid" non variable speed apparently, needed a new blade I soon found after successfully drilling the roof pilot holes. I had worn it out cutting heavy metal door thresholds. Off to the town below to discover no one here has the correct blades for my brand. I then caved and bought a great variable speed Black and Decker which accepts Milwaukee blades even available almost everywhere! The drill championed the metal cutout plus murdered my back electric attachment to the dome light LOL! The caulking was for me messy as usual and Dylan had sent just the right amount to fill in even the 4 hole gaps as my roof has deep ridges to deal with after sinking the vent. The screws I found were inadequate for the metal roofing install so back to town this time covered in silver caulking appearing as a giant bird flying overhead had pooped on me lol. Finally back and screws in place to complete the seal I applied the remaining caulking all around the edges and finished with Flex Tape just in case to ward off our winters. As I said I love it! This is a great recommended product with my stamp of approval! Thanks Dylan! 522916

The metal construction of the roof vent seemed sturdy enough. I didn't like the "manual lift" on it, the construction seemed sort of cheap to me. And the plastic skirt is flimsy and seems weaker than the rest of the design. I purchased this to replace my cracked plastic one. It almost seems better just to use the metal cover on my existing roof vent and save the rest of it for spare parts. I'm going to install it tomorrow. But it's definitely worth the price, even if it's just for the metal cover! 22738

Received the Ventline Ventadome metal roof vent in good condition. After removing the old plastic roof vent, the new unit slipped right into the existing square hole with no trouble. See the "before" and "after" pictures. The old plastic roof vent only lasted a few years in Wyoming (the 2 X 5 blocks in the "before" picture were duck taped in place to prevent the plastic bag I stuffed in there from blowing away - a temporary fix while waiting for the new vent). I did not use the polyurethane adhesive between the roof and the vent flange. Everything deteriorates sooner or later especially in Wyoming. If I ever had to replace the vent it would be exceedingly difficult to remove it if stuck down with urethane adhesive. Instead I used ordinary putty (available at most hardware stores). In fact the old vent was sealed with putty. Since the putty layer is thicker than the urethane, I used 1" screws around the flange instead of the 3/4" screws supplied. A year from now I'll see how the vent has survived. 149815

Tim, do you mean the distance from the roof to the top of the lid when closed, or when fully open? When closed it cant be more than a couple of inches. I dont know what it is fully open - maybe 12 inches?Unfortunately the trailer is in Wyoming and I am in Denver right now, so I cant measure it.Paul

After one year in the Wyoming weather the vent has performed very well: no water leakage and no dust entry. Hail storms were not able to dent the vent lid even though they were severe enough to dent the aluminum trailer roof somewhat. I am pleased with the results. Paul

Product arrived quickly and in undamaged box. Fortunately I had spare putty tape and screws, because neither was included with the vent. I also used the trim piece from my existing vent, because the trim piece that is supplied with this vent is far too deep. The vent was slightly bent on arrival, but I bent it back into shape and once it was screwed down it seems to be fine. I like the dial mechanism for raising and lowering the vent, and overall I am quite pleased with the product. 261401

It has the metal lid, in addition to metal frame, as advertised and hopefully will stand up a little better than the cheap plastic ones during a major hailstorm. It was delivered much faster than expected by UPS Ground. Overall, a great experience from the telecon to order and all the way through delivery! 375878

Just installed it about two weeks ago. Actually just installed the cover since it had the type hinge that allowed it. Whole assembly was installed with so much sealant, it would have taken a Road Grader to scrape it off, so did the easy thing

So much better than the plastic one that came in my trailer! Install was plug and play and I know this one will last. Great to see Made in the USA on stuff! 86802

One year and still perfect. Wish the trailer came with this one to begin with. Plastic cant hold up to intense sun of Florida but the metal has no problem

Review from a similar Ventline Ventadome in RV Vents and Fans

I had the plastic curved dome that came with the trailer and it became brittle and broke into several little pieces from the Texas sun. Never needed the light to shine through so I replaced it with the newer metal top. It was a perfect fit replacement. I ended up using everything except for the housing that is bolted to the trailer. I left the original housing in place and transferred the top, screen, screen crank handle and gasket. It ended up being cheaper to buy the entire unit and take pieces off that I needed instead of buying just the pieces that I needed (i.e. cover, gasket, screen and screen crank handle). 316580

Review from a similar Ventline Ventadome in RV Vents and Fans

This product was purchased to replace an old vent that broke. The vent showed up on the front steps. I open the box and found the corner to be bent up. I needed to fix the hole in the roof A.S.A.P., so I bent the corner back to avoid going through a return. Over all I'm happy with the vent, but not thrilled about it being bent. 95459

  • Replacement Ventline Trailer Roof Vent Covers for Parts V2092 and V2094
  • We carry a broad range of Ventline products, complete vent assemblies as well as individual replacement parts, for both of the part numbers you referenced. For Ventline item V2092 we offer complete vent assemblies, # V2092SP-29 in smoke color and # V2092SP-28 in white. Replacement domes are also available, # BVD0449-A03 in smoke and # BVD0449-A01 in white. For powered vent V2094 we offer a complete vent assembly # V2094SP-34 in smoke and # V2094SP-30 in white. • Replacement Parts Needed for a Northern Breeze Model V2525 Vent
  • We do have most of the parts that you referenced and although we don't have instructions we do have some diagrams on each of the product pages that you can check out. Item 7 - # VC0476-00 Item 14 - # BV0115-04 We don't have items 1, 15 and, 16, but it sounds like 15 and 16 come with the item 14. In all honesty it would be much more cost-effective for you to just purchase a whole new 14" x 14" unit # V2094SP-34 as opposed to piecing it out. You would just need the screws and sealer...

  • Is a Replacement Motor Available for Ventline Northern Breeze V2525?
  • Unfortunately we do not carry a replacement motor for a Ventline Northern Breeze V2525 and I recommend simply replacing that vent assembly with a new one, the Ventline Ventadome # V2094SP-34. This fan fits standard 14" x 14" roof openings in roofs that are 1-7/8" to 3" thick. The only thing you'd need in order to put this vent in is Installation Kit # RVIKIT100.

  • Replacement Trailer 14 x 14 Roof Vents and Installation Kits
  • Camco part # CAM40148 is a smoke-color replacement vent LID ONLY that fits specific production years of Ventline and Elixir vents models. It fits Ventline vents with a continuous metal hinge that were produced before 2008 and similar Elixir brand vents produced after 1994. This hinge type is shown in the linked photo. We do also offer complete vent units that include the lid. These 14 x 14-inch complete vents are shown on the linked page. We have models without fans like # V2092SP-29...

  • Roof Vent Needed with 12V Fan That Sits Under 5" Tall
  • The Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2094SP-34 that you referenced actually sits only 4-1/2" above the roof when it is closed so it will fit in your garage! It comes with a 12V fan that is powered by DC. Most of our vents fit this description though so you are in luck! If you are looking for a vent that can stay open and still fall under your 5" height restriction then you will need the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent # VP-543SP. This is a round vent with a diameter of 6-1/4"...

  • Can a Trailer Roof Vent with Electric Fan Be Installed in a 2003 Ford E-350 Conversion Van
  • If you are willing to cut a 14-1/4 inch square opening in the roof of your 2003 Ford van then yes, you can use the roof vent # V2094SP-34. For the installation I recommend kit # RVIKIT100 as well. As far as the wiring goes you will just need to run wiring from the vent to the positive battery terminal. The vent has a switch already so it just needs a 12 volt power source. If you need additional wire you can use # 16-1-1 which is sold by the foot.

  • Replacement Motor for Ventline Vent Fan V2027 in a 1972 Champion Motorhome
  • I spoke to my contact at the Ventline division of Dexter Axle and they informed me that replacement parts for your Ventline Vent Fan V2027 are no longer available due to the age of the unit, 1974. Unfortunately, Ventline also no longer makes an 8" diameter vent fan anymore so you have two options for replacement. The first option you have would be to fill part of the hole and then install the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent part # VP-543SP which is 6-1/4" diameter. The other option...

  • Availability of Replacement Motor for V2525 Northern Breeze Fan
  • The motor for the V2525 Northern Breeze fan is unfortunately not available as a replacement part. If the motor is bad then the best solution is to replace the entire vent unit with part # V2094SP-34 which has the 12V fan and a manual lift. You will also need the install kit # RVIKIT100 which comes with seat and mounting hardware. If you would like to upgrade the vent unit just let me know and I can help you find one that best suits your needs.
