Forged, Self-Latching Jaw

Self-Latching Jaw

The one-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel hitch provides absolute security with its wraparound design. Increased jaw-to-king-pin contact results in not only a stronger connection, but less noisy rattling and stiff chucking as well.

The jaw is also always ready to receive, so you don't need to use the handle to open it before backing up toward your trailer. As long as the bail pin is removed from the latching handle, the jaw will accept the king pin as it enters the hitch.

Finally, the jaw is self-latching, so it will automatically secure your trailer's king pin when it moves into the jaw.

Quiet, Comfortable Ride

Pivot Bushings

In addition to the tight jaw tolerance, a close connection between the head and the pivot bushings further reduces rattle and movement. And because the pivot bushings are independent from the head, they can be tightened to ensure a strong connection over time.

King Pin Indicator Prevents High Pinning

King Pin Indicator

This M5 hitch features a built-in king pin indicator to ensure proper hookup. This indicator is located on the back of the head along with a V-shaped notch that are both visible from the cab of your truck. The V-notch is lined up with the jaw at the front of the hitch, and can be used as a guiding point to line the king pin up with the jaw as you back up your truck. The jaw also has an internal plate that keeps the king pin from entering if it is too high to enter safely. As a result, the king pin indicator will only change from red to green if the king pin is fully engaged in the jaw.

Easy-to-Use Latching Handle

Lever and Hitch

This hitch's handle is designed for smooth motion and effortless operation. It requires only 2 fingers to use and won't bind up as you pull. In addition, the handle is long, so it's easy to access from outside of your truck bed. And the ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to hold and pull from different angles.

  • How to Identify if a Truck has Reese Elite or Signature Series Rail Kit Installed
Check out the picture I attached that shows the dimensions of what Reese Elite or Signature Series pucks would be in the bed of a truck like yours. If you measure the center to center distance of the pucks, and they come out to be 13 by 30 inches, they are Reese Elite rails that would be compatible with the Reese M5 20K hitch # RP30921 or the 27K model, part # RP30922. If you wished to use a different hitch that's compatible with industry standard bed rails, an adapter is available,...

  • Troubleshooting Difficulty Releasing the Latch on a Reese M5 5th Wheel Hitch
It sounds like your Reese 5th Wheel Hitch item # RP30922 needs to have the jaw mechanism lubricated. You will want to use a white lithium grease like item # L11354 and lubricate the king pin each time you hook up to your hitch. I attached a picture that shows where the Reese 5th wheel hitch needs to be lubricated.

  • Recommended Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Hitch to Tow a 16,800 lb GVWR Trailer with a 2017 F-350
We typically recommend having about 1,000 lbs - 2,000 lbs worth of cushion between your loaded trailer and the max weight capacity of your 5th wheel hitch. Even if you were to load your trailer up to the 16,800 lbs though I believe that you would be just fine with the Reese M5 20K # RP30142. This fits directly to the puck system in your 2017 Ford F-350. It weighs about 154 lbs but you can remove the head, which weighs about 50 lbs, to help make installing and removing the hitch easier. The...

  • Trailer Hitch Options for a 2012 Ford F-350 With Factory 5th Wheel Prep Package
The fifth wheel prep package that you have on your 2012 Ford F-350 is compatible with the Reese M5 Series fifth wheel hitches. There are two M5 Series fifth wheel hitches that are available, the M5 Series 20K hitch and the M5 Series 27K hitch, # RP30922. If your fifth wheel trailer weighs more than 18,000 lbs when it is fully loaded, then I recommend the 27K hitch. If you have a short bed truck you'll also need to use a sidewinder pin box to push the pivot point of your trailer back 22"...

  • How To Grease Your Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
The lube plate # RP83001 will do the job to keep your pin box from scraping as it slides onto the head of your Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30922 but you can also grease the jaws using a grease gun like # L30132 to apply grease to the grease fitting on top of the hitch. We don't have the needle adapters required but a local hardware store or even elsewhere online would pretty easily have them as they are very common.

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch That Fits in Pucks of 2017 Ford F-350 With 8-Foot Bed
There are a number of high-quality fifth-wheel hitches that will fit into the puck system of your 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty. Reese makes two of those, called the Elite Series, which is available in towing capacities of 20,000lbs # RP30921 and 27,000lbs # RP30921. In between those weight ranges is the Demco Hijacker # DM8550033, which has a 21,000 lb capacity. Finally there is Curt, which has different fifth-wheel hitches that will fit in the pucks of your F-350's bed. The A16 # C16520-16017...

  • Is The Reese M5 5th wheel Hitch Compatible With Curt Rota-Flex Pin Box?
Hello Fred, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the Reese M5 5th wheel hitch is compatible with the Rota-Flex pin box. You will not need any kind of adapter or wedge to use these together, but I do recommend a Lube Plate # RP83001 to eliminate the need for grease on the face of the pin box.

You are definitely correct that both the B&W Companion # BWRVK3305 and the Reese M5 # RP30922 are fantastic 5th wheel hitches that will work well on your 2019 Ford F-350 but I do recommend going with the B&W Companion # BWRVK3305. • Difference Between Curt Q24 and A25 Fifth Wheel Hitches for 2016 Ford Rail Kit
I reached out to my tech contact at Curt and he said the difference between the Curt Q24 # C16545-16017 and A25 # C16036 is the A25 is a rebranded Q25 with a head that is made of stronger material. I would say yes, the Reese # RP30922 is better. Reese hitches tend to have quite a bit less movement in them and their heads aren't known to wear out like the Curt hitches.

I wouldn't call that a silly question at all, I'd call it perfectly reasonable but unfortunately the answer is no, the legs from a Reese Elite Series are not compatible with a Curt Q25. Since you already have the underbed rails # RP30868 in your 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500, and since the legs you have for the Curt hitch only works for the factory prep package, your best option really is to use the Reese M5 Series # RP30921 or # RP30922 fifth wheel hitch.
