Video Transcript for Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut Feature Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Lionshead 9/16 by 18 stainless steel capped lug nut. This lug nut is constructed of a steel with a stainless steel outer cap for maximum durability and corrosion resistant. It is designed to fit 9/16 of an inch wheel bolts with 18 threads per inch. It does have the standard 60 degree taper on it. The height on this if we measure it is going to be right at two inches tall, and it does use a socket size of 7/8 of an inch. I pulled a 7/8 inch socket here, and you can see it fits right on there.

It allows you to remove it or install it. That should do it for the review on the Lionshead 9/16 by 18 stainless steel capped lug nut.

The prt worked perfectly for me. trailer was very easy to work with, even when the shipper lost my package. I have and will buy from trailer again.

by:

Etrailer was the only place that I could fine the replacement lug nut that I was looking for. I’ll be back for more stuff. Thank you!!

by:

These are two piece lug nuts. If you don't get the socket on all the way, you will crush the outer stainless cover. Lug nuts need to be one piece.

by:

I think a little pricey XX bucks for a single lugnut but wanted it to match what I had ..think XX for a lugnut and XX for shipping would be a better price pint

by:

Product was hard to find. Fit exactly as indicated. Appears good quality.

by:

Very good replacement lugs for the damaged ones done by a repair shop. Appears to be the exact replacement.

by:

FANTASTIC SERVICE EVERY TIME WE ORDER,FAST AND EFFICIENT.

by:

Ordering was quick & and easy & price was reasonable. In spite of 1 part of order missing (due to ripped envelope), etrailer immediately sent replacement & kept me posted. Best, efficient company I’ve dealt with in a long time!

by:

First set of lugs were mailed out in an envelope & the envelope showed up to my house torn & empty. I contacted Amy and she immediately took care of my situation and had another order mailed out. This time they were mailed out in a small box. Much better!
Thank you for the outstanding customer service.

by:

Ordered in the afternoon and it shipped the next morning. I'm not used to paying frieght, but the charges were actual instead of the inflated charges where other vendors make more money. Can't complain about anything except for the caps on the originallug nuts coming apart after 3 years. Purchased a totally deep 7/8 socket to help prevent that. Thanks Etrailer.

Working Great, wheels haven’t fallen off.

by:

No problem with the product and the customer service was excellent

by:

Love these wheel covers! Perfect fit on my Lakota horse trailer and have kept my tires from developing sun exposure/rain rot, extending the life of my tires. Wish they were a little easier to get on/off but that’s just the old man in me complaining. They even helped through the winter as seen in the photo!

by:

I received the lug nuts I ordered from etrailer as promised. etrailer was the only provider I found who had the lug nuts I needed in stainless steel. I have both an RV and a boat trailer and the current lug nuts have all corroded badly so I wanted stainless steel to prevent this from occurring. Ordering from etrailer was easy and convenient. Thanks!

by:

I needed to find matching lug nuts, simple as that may sound, for our new 5th wheel having no success locally. I found etrailer was quick, easy, efficient and had the correct lug nuts available immediately. Shipping was very expeditions and reasonably priced. The order was completed and shipped professionally and promptly. etrailer will definitely be on my list of "go to" places in the future. Thank you etrailer!

by:

etrailer is the best place to find good quality and hard to fine products for your trailer. Their service is 5 star for ordering and returns. I have never had any problems with this company and I will continue to use them for future needs. Thank you for a great dependable company.

by:

I needed to replace several lugs as they had been damaged with the wrong wrench. I looked everywhere for replacements…..no luck.
Then I found the exact ones on etrailer. Shipping was quick and delivered on time. I would highly recommend these folks for your specific needs.
Many thanks

by:

Very hard to find this lug nut locally to fit my 5th wheel trailer. Even my local trailer building place didn't have them. But etrailer had them and a perfect fit and match to my other ones.

by:

I ordered lug nuts for my RV and needed them within 5 days. Sheri T. had the lug nuts delivered within the time I needed. The lug nuts were very difficult to find locally, so I went online and found them at etrailer.com. The lug nuts that I received were exactly what I was looking for. In the future I certainly will use etrailer.com rather than look all over to find parts, for my RV. Great service and Great product.

by:

The order process and tracking was excellent, the product also was every bit as well. I certainly will return for future needs/ products.

by:

Wheel lug nuts look pretty heavy duty and of good quality. Very pleased with them. Also a big Thanks to Kelly P she is very helpful in helping me find what I needed. Will work with her in the future when she is available.

by:

Customer Service is great. I ordered 32 lug nuts and two of them were wrong size. I spoke with them in regards to the problem and they sent the correct ones out right away. I highly recommend them!

by:

Lug nuts are excellent quality and shipping was quick. Great product backed up with great service, Cant beat Etrailer.com!!

by:

Quality of product is excellent!. The package was held up in Houston for a week while UPS transferred to USPS. Received ten days after ordering and some of the nuts were loose in the damaged box. The plastic bag should have been sealed close to insure that there was no loss of nuts through holes in box.

by:

Arrived quickly. Lug nut was good construction and fit as specified.

  • What Kind of Lug Nut Do I Need For the Cooper Work Series 215/75R17.5 # LH28FR ?
Hello Perry. For the Cooper Work Series 215/75R17.5 Radial Tire w/ 17-1/2" Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 - LR H - Black # LH28FR you will want the cone style like the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # LHLR110.

  • Can I Use 1/2" Studs With A 17.5" Wheel?
Hello Danny, thanks for reaching out. You would not want to use 1/2" studs with a 17.5" wheel, unless the wheel is made specifically to work with 1/2" studs. Virtually every 17.5" trailer wheel is made to work with 5/8" studs. If this was to be used with 1/2" studs it would be highly unsafe and would likely destroy your wheels and hubs. For example, the Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel # LI44FR is a 17-1/2" wheel that requires 5/8" studs. I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out and leave...

  • Lug Nuts for a Brinkley Z3100 5th Wheel Camper
Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out! Your Brinkley Z3100 5th wheel should have a 17-1/2" wheel size which means you should be using 9/16" or 5/8" studs. The Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut - 9/16"-18 - Stainless Steel # LHLR110 works with a 7/8" socket which is pretty close to 22mm. The ultimate deciding factor though is for you to figure out what size studs you have and we can go from there.

  • Does Pilot Hole Size Have to Match to Use Lionshead Trailer Wheel
The Aluminum Modular Trailer Wheel - 16" x 7" Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 # LHJM513 has a 4.88" pilot diameter and will work for your horse trailer. Ther pilot diameter does not have to match your old wheel because this wheel fits over the lugs of your hub, and not the pilot hole, so you just need the correct size lug nuts to match your hub. This wheel is compatible with the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut - 9/16"-18 # LHLR110. For a center cap you can use the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Center Cap...

  • What Lug Nut Do I Need for a Dexter 8K Axle and Hub?
The axle or actually the hub, like the Dexter item # 8-285-11UC3, doesn't really determine which lug nut you use as long as it's compatible with a 9/16" wheel stud. The wheel itself is what dictates whether a coned lug nut is needed and what angle the cone needs to be. Most most trailer wheels use a 60º coned lug nut like item # 6-53 for a steel wheel or item # LHLR110 for an aluminum wheel.

  • What Type of Lug Nut Should Be Used with a 17.5" Alcoa Wheel with 9/16 Wheel Studs
At the end of the day, you can use any of those options (stainless steel, zinc or chrome), you just need to get a lug nut that fits the 9/16 stud. But, we do not have a chrome option that fits the 9/16 stud. Personally, I would go with the stainless steel option because it will provide the best corrosion resistance and the most durable option. - Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # LHLR110 But if you are looking for a more economical option, you can use the zinc coated lug nut. - DeeMaxx...

If they require a 2-1/8 inch seal, your wheel size is 16 to 17-1/2 inches and you have a 12 inch brake assembly, then you can use the Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly # 8-219-9UC3. This is for 5,200 to 7,000 lb axles. Now, for your idler axle, if it is a 5,200, 6,000 or 7,000 lb axle and has #42 spindles, you can use this Dexter Trailer...

  • Recommended Stainless Steel Lug Nuts For A Shorelandr Boat Trailer
Hey Jeremy, For stainless steel lug nuts I'd go with Lionshead's 1/2" -20 # LHLR103 or 9/16"-18 # LHLR110 depending on the diameter of your wheel studs. You could add in a hub cover but it's honestly not necessary and more so just for looks. The Karrier ST185/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire & Wheel # KE33JR has a 3.19" pilot hole so you'd just need to measure how far that dust cover sits out to see if there's a long enough hub cover to fit.

  • Which Lug Nuts for Dexter 7K axle.
Hubs for 7K axles could use either 1/2 inch or 9/16 lug nuts, so you'll want to measure the diameter of the wheel studs. For 1/2 inch studs, I'd recommend the # 12CLN. For 9/16 inch studs, use # LHLR110.

  • Which Lug Nuts for Taskmaster AX02665865HDBMMFL Viking Valhalla 16x6.5 Trailer Wheel
Because the holes for the lug nuts on the # AX02665865HDBMMFL Viking Valhalla wheel are countersunk, a regular lug nut won't work. You'l need a longer lug nut like # 12CLN for a 1/2-20 or # LHLR110 for a 9/16-18. The wheel you specified is compatible with both 1/2 inch or 9/16 wheel studs.

  • Lug Nuts Keep Coming Loose on Double Axle Trailer
If you still have the trailer manual, I would recommend checking that to see what the manufacturer of your trailer has set as the recommended torque specs for your hubs; a majority of the time, these issues are rooted in over/under tightening of the lug nuts like the # LHLR110. It is likely that you will need a lug nut like the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # LHLR110 that threads onto 9/16"-18 lug bolts. You may also have 5/8" studs. The wheel itself does not determine the necessary lug nut size. The best way to determine the correct lug nut is to remove one and take it to your local hardware store. They should have a series of bolt that you can test fit the nut on to determine the correct thread pitch and diameter.

  • What Does Right Hand Thread Mean for Trailer Lug Nuts
Right hand thread means that they tighten turning clockwise like what you have. Older vehicles and trailers used to put left hand threaded lugs on one side of the trailer and right hand on the other. The thinking back then was that they all had to tighten a certain direction relative to the rotation of the wheels otherwise they would loosen on their own from inertia while traveling down the road. In recent years we've learned that's not true so basically everything now is right hand thread.

I would recommend something else. In terms of good, better and best corrosion resistance, the ESR Finish you referenced is what we would consider the "better" option. For the best corrosion resistance, an aluminum wheel/tire combo like # LHAWSO513B provides far superior coverage. It has a...
