Determining Lug Nut Size for 21k Trailer With 235/80R16 Tires and Wheels

Question:

I cant figure out which lug nuts we need to purchase for getting new tires are wheels onto our trailer. The trailer is a 10x30 21K flatbed with axle, tire pressure 80 psi ST235/80R16E tires. Could you please help me figure out which lug nuts we need? Thank you!

It is likely that you will need a lug nut like the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # LHLR110 that threads onto 9/16"-18 lug bolts. You may also have 5/8" studs. The wheel itself does not determine the necessary lug nut size.

The best way to determine the correct lug nut is to remove one and take it to your local hardware store. They should have a series of bolt that you can test fit the nut on to determine the correct thread pitch and diameter.
