Pivoting Upright Arms with Adjustable Tire Grips

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The Tire Hold has pivoting upright arms with adjustable tire grips that grab your bikes firmly by the wheels - not the frames. These grips allow you to rapidly load and unload your bikes, and they won't scratch or scuff the paint. The grips have slots on the inside so you can adjust them to accommodate the wheel size of each bike.

To load your bikes simply set the tire grips to the correct tire size, set your bikes on the trays, rotate the upright arms against the tires, and press down on the tire grips until they're snug.

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The arms are secured by ratcheting mechanisms that slide along the trays. Simply press the silver button on each mechanism to release and slide.

Grooved Wheel Trays

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The wheel trays have 3 grooves in the track that accommodate narrow 18c road bike tires up to 3" wide mountain bike tires. The Tire Hold doesn't have cradles for the wheels like most platform-style bike racks have. This allows you to position your bikes on the rack exactly where you want them, not where the cradles dictate you place them. This helps prevent your handlebars and other bike parts from bumping into each other.

Folding and Tilting Design

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The rack tilts down - with or without bikes loaded - so you can access your vehicle's rear cargo area.

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The front-mounted hand lever on the base is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt-release lever. Simply squeeze it until you see the red indicator, then lower the rack. When you raise the rack back up you will hear a click and the red indicator will disappear.

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

When the rack is unloaded you can squeeze the hand lever to fold it up for storage. This makes it easier to park in small lots at the trail head or in cramped parking garages, and it keeps the rack out of the way of other vehicles and riders.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle Device

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The hand knob at the base of the rack lets you tighten the shank in your receiver. Just slide the shank into your hitch, insert the hitch pin, and turn the knob until snug. The knob deploys an anti-rattle wedge at the tip of the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

You can set the integrated stopper so that the shank automatically aligns with your hitch pin hole. The first time you install the rack you can adjust the sliding stopper so that it touches the face of your hitch. Then each time you install it going forward it's set up so that the hole in the shank automatically lines up with the hitch pin hole. This prevents you from having to bend down and check for alignment each time you install the rack on your vehicle.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle Device

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The hand knob on the front of the rack has a keyed lock that secures the rack to your vehicle. To secure your bikes to the rack, run the thick steel cable through your bikes' frames and tighten the hand knob down over the cable's looped end.

  • Availability of Add-Ons and Spare Parts for Inno Tire Hold INH142 Bike Rack
We do indeed carry the Inno Tire Hold bike rack, # INH110 for a 1-bike, # INH120 for a 2-bike, # INH142 for a 4-bike version. The racks aren't discontinued, and we can get many spare parts from Inno. This particular rack isn't capable of being added onto. Kuat offers a wheel-mount rack, # BA22B for a 2-bike, or # BA22B-BA02B for a 4-bike. A 1 bike add on is available as part # KU97FR or a 2 bike as # BA02B. We can indeed obtain replacement parts from Kuat.

  • Quality Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for 4 New Mountain Bikes with Disc Brakes
Another 4 bike rack I would have you consider is the Yakima HoldUp, item # Y02443, along with the Plus 2 Adapter for HoldUp 2 Bike Carrier, 2 inch Hitches, item # Y02446. This rack is a wheel mount style for ease of loading and unloading the bikes and secures the bikes, keeping them from contacting each other or the back of the vehicle. This style is also a good choice for mountain bikes with suspensions because it is it does not compress the frame of the bike and wear the shocks.

  • Does The Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # NV22G-NA22G Interfere With Bike Fenders
Hi Rebekka, The Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # NV22G-NA22G has a ratcheting arm that will interfere with front fenders so it unfortunately wouldn't be the best option option for hauling your bikes. If you wanted to stick with the Kuat brand then you'll need the Kuat Piston Pro Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # KU58ZR instead, which does mount via the wheels but the arms don't have to rest against the forks and interfere with the fenders. Inno offers a similar style rack # INH142 that's quite...

The Inno Tire Hold 4 Bike Platform Rack part # INH142 is listed as having a carrier weight of 118 lbs which is the full weight of the carrier without packaging. The Inno Tire Hold 4 Bike Platform Rack is very durable and well made but with this comes a heavy rack. If you watch the video on the Inno Tire Hold # INH142, you will see that it has wheels to move it around to make up for its heaviness. It will also show you, in detail, how to install the rack. Hey Keith, welcome back! We do not have a replacement locking handle for your Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack item # INH120. It looks like you just purchased this bike rack. Have you tried reaching out to Inno for a replacement? Not sure what happened to yours but you're definitely within their warranty period.

  • Can 4th Tray Be Added to RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack for 3 Bikes
The RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # RKY24RR unfortunately can't be upgraded to a 4-bike rack, but we do have some 4-bike rack options for you to choose from. I recommend the Inno Tire Hold # INH142 which has a similar design and comes with 4 trays for up to 4 bikes. You can just leave that last tray (furthest back from the vehicle) empty until you need to carry your 4th bike. The reason I recommend this over other options is because of the handle at the end which makes tilting...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2022 Keystone Sprinter Limited Travel Trailer
Our best option for a bolt to the frame hitch for your 2022 Keystone Sprinter Limited Travel Trailer is going to the be the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch # 13703. This hitch will work on box frames, C-channel frames, or I-beam frames that are between 22" and 72" wide. So provided your trailers frame meets those criteria, it can be made to fit. It can be bolted on with the included hardware, or it can be welded on. We installed this hitch most recently on a similar 2016 Keystone travel...

  • Is There a Hitch Pin Lock for the Inno Tire Hold 4 Bike Platform Rack
The Inno Tire Hold 4 Bike Platform Rack part # INH142 comes with locks for both the hitch and bikes. The hand knob on the front of the rack which is used to tighten and loosen it has a lock core built in that won't let you loosen it, which is required to remove the rack, without the key. There isn't any sort of standard hitch pin lock for this rack but many bike rack manufacturers use this style lock and it works just fine.

  • Comparing the Weights of Different 4-Bike Racks
The Inno Tire Hold 4 # INH142 weighs 118 pounds. It is a full tray style compared to the other bike racks you mentioned, Kuat NV # BA22B-BA02B, Saris SuperClamp EX # SA4026F, Yakima HoldUp # Y02443-2, that use wheel cradles instead. Even the Kuat NV # BA22B-BA02B is the heaviest of those three options at 86lbs. Its platform is partially a tray style so that you can still roll your bike onto the rack using the Kuat Access Ramp # ANVBRB. My favorite thing about the Inno Tire Hold # INH142...

  • Is the Yakima Ridgeback 4 Recommended for Carbon Fiber Bikes?
I have a great alternative option for you. Unfortunately, we here at etrailer do not recommend using a frame-mounted bike rack like the Yakima Ridgeback 4 # Y02458 if you have a carbon fiber road bike. The reason why is because racks that attach at the bike's frame create a possibility that your frame could be cracked or damaged by the torque of the vehicle. For a safe alternative for a carbon fiber bike, a hitch rack is the safest option. For a hitch rack for a single carbon fiber bike,...

The closest thing to match what you're looking for is the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # INH142. This uses hoops to hold both the front and rear tires and you can offset the bikes enough that you should be able to clear fenders on your bikes. The front 2 trays (nearest the vehicle) can each carry a 60 lb bike while the 2 rear trays can hold up to 40 lb bikes. Be mindful that the total weight capacity is 160 lbs so you can't load each try to capacity if you'll be carrying 4 bikes. Another...

I recommend using the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack # INH142 for carrying 4 of the Quintana Roo PRfive2 Disc Triathlon bikes. This rack protects your carbon frame by holding the bikes in place with wheel clamps. You will need the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e23ZR for your 2023 Toyota RAV4 Prime to be able to carry this bike rack. It has a 2" hitch opening for the bike rack. The Inno Tire Hold # INH142 4-bike rack will accommodate children't bikes with 20 inch wheels or adult bikes with up to 29 inch wheels. Inno tells me that a 33 inch wheelbase bike will just fit on the rack. The Kuat NV 2.0 4-bike, part # BA22B-BA02B does not have an adapter for kid's bikes. One huge feature offered by the NV 2.0 is the add-on feature. Actually, the Yakima BackSwing cannot be used with the Thule Helium # TH44VR since the hitch extender only works with a solid 2" shank and the Thule Helium has an 1-1/4" shank with a 2" adapter sleeve. Not all tilt-aways can be tilted fully loaded. We have the Inno Tire Hold # INH142 that can tilt fully loaded.
