Question:

I am looking at platform hitch bike racks. Is the Inno Tire Hold 4 bike really over 100 lbs? Thats for the rack itself? I am comparing it to Yakima 4timer, Kuat NV 4, and Saris Superclamp and they are all between 60-70 lbs each.

The Inno Tire Hold 4 # INH142 weighs 118 pounds. It is a full tray style compared to the other bike racks you mentioned, Kuat NV # BA22B-BA02B, Saris SuperClamp EX # SA4026F, Yakima HoldUp # Y02443-2, that use wheel cradles instead. Even the Kuat NV # BA22B-BA02B is the heaviest of those three options at 86lbs. Its platform is partially a tray style so that you can still roll your bike onto the rack using the Kuat Access Ramp # ANVBRB.

My favorite thing about the Inno Tire Hold # INH142 is how it's designed for ease of use. The platform trays allow me to slide my bike back and forth for the best fit. I can very quickly lift my bikes on there and secure them without having to fiddle around with knobs or adjusting cradles. It just happens that that breezy design is heavy, but those are the pros and cons we consider when choosing the best bike rack that fits your lifestyle.

If the Inno Tire Hold # INH142 is too heavy, then I recommend the Kuat NV # BA22B-BA02B as a good balance between ease of use and lightness. Its fixed front cradles will make it relatively quick to load multiple bikes while it's significantly lighter than the Inno Tire Hold.
