Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement fan motor assembly kit for Fantastic Vent Roof Vent Fans. This is going to replace that original vent fan that came with your Fantastic Vent Roof Fan. It's going to have al the same specs as that. It does have the motor already attached with the bowtie bracket on the back. You'll just need to secure that in place on your vent with the screws that came with your kit. There is no hardware that comes with this, so you will have to replace either with the original hardware or pick up some on your own.Has the two wires for your power and ground hookup.
They already come with butt connectors on them, so that's one last step you have to do. This does have to be connected to 12 volt power. As far as the measurements for this fan, from the mounting hole on either side of the bowtie bracket, center on center, that's going to be 11 and a 16th inches from the height of the mounting holes themselves, that's going to be five and 5/16th inches. From the inside edge to inside edge of that bracket, that's going to be 12 and 5/8ths. You can see a little bit better if I hold it in front maybe.
The fan diameter itself, that is going to be 11 and 3/8ths, so that gives you an idea of what that should bit, but it will work with the Fantastic Vent Roof Vans. You can check those part numbers out on our website. This will be a direct replacement from Fantastic Fans, so it should work out well. That's going to do it for our look at the replacement fan motor assembly kit for Fantastic Vent Roof Fans.
Good value.. decent product, time will tell?
Allowed me to keep my original vintage Airstream fan covers, screens and housing ??
Very pleased with my order of a new motor and butterfly bracket for the Dometic Fan-Tastic Ceiling fan. Easy to find on the web site. Easy to order and to track the delivery date and time. Good customer service interaction and followup. I would use E-Trailer again for a parts order for my Airstream trailer.
This product was advertised as a drop-in replacement for the fan assembly kit. It was not. The "bow-tie" element did NOT have the screw holes in exactly the same positions as the one I was replacing, so it did not fit and was unusable. The positions of the holes were off by about 2 millimeters. Luckily, I was able to move the motor unit (which was really the only thing I wanted to buy but could not find as a separately available part) to the original bow-tie support. The finish of the bow-tie support was not as nice as the original.
Additionally, the fan blade was not as well balanced as the original fan blade, and it too did not have as good a finish as the original, which is about 10 years old. So, the fan was noisy because of its unbalanced fan blade. Again, luckily, I was able to attach the original fan blade to the replacement motor. I have a working situation now, because the motor did work as a drop-in replacement. The rest of the kit was worthless to me.
Replacement fan motor fit perfectly.
I found it easy to find the parts that needed on your website,as well as easy check out.
Motor is fine, I’m just confused on something, after riding multiple items I realized one thing was back ordered. Ok that’s fine no problem, so I called and asked if you could send motor immediately as I really needed. I was told no problem, then I got email saying not possible? I even offered to pay for the extra split shipping. Not possible was told. Ok so I went to other vendor and ordered motor and had in few days. Will just keep this as spare as they only last few years. But the kicker was when I received the motor was sent separately from other items. So it wasn’t possible to ship sooner why? Won’t be returning
Perfect replacement for my failed fan motor. Quick delivery.
Product was as described and fit in the vent support without modification. Shipped quickly and received on time. I was disappointed that there were no instructions to guide me in the replacement, but was able to complete the replacement regardless. I will continue to use etrailer for my RV needs.
The mounting plate was a little short. Had to drill and put screws in myself. Other than that plug and play.
Excellent customer service.
Part arrived, easy to install
Good price !
Bolted right in as a replacement. Fan blades a little out of true on the 2 units we purchased. Fan blades slightly wobbly . Not an issue other than visual . Just not as nice as the OEM fan that spun straight and true when it did work. Easy repair that will get you back up and going.
This product is a real disgrace! I bought two, one from another seller. The shameful thing is the terrible build quality, meaning the fan is poorly balanced and even warped. When running at high speeds, it's very noisy and vibrates, so much so that it's unusable at high speeds. I wonder how Dometic can produce such products without adequate quality control. I will never buy it again and I don't recommend it!
The first fan that I received wasn't working, but after I called in I had a new one shipped the very next day. This one works as intended. The customer service is excellent. Thank you William. I would buy again from etrailer.
Fortunately I only needed the motor,I had to reuse my old fan blades because the one that came with it was not balanced!
This is a replacement part for Casita camper bought in 2005. Excellent service from your company.
Thanks!
The new fan motor assembly installed easily and works fine.
Fit perfect and was easy to install.
Fan was delayed in shipping by 5 days. Will not use USPS again. I was replacing fan model X8000. The mounting screw holes do not match up. Needed to drill new holes which was challenging as the replacement fan was not as wide as the original. The old saying “ they don’t make them like they used to” holds true. New fan has a slight whine and it wobbles.
Unit arrived sooner than promised. Installation very easy and done from the top. I removed the large vent cover (7/16" socket) then the four screws on the bow-tie. The old unit lifted out but I had to loosen the black (white) lead on the "vent closed" cutoff switch and move it out of the way. The new unit dropped in, bow-tie holes matched perfectly and after putting in the screws, I cut the wires and used the crimp connectors on the new fan to connect to the fixture wiring. I used cable ties to fasten the leads to the bow-tie arms and to gather excess wiring to keep it out of the way. Tools needed: 7/16" socket to remove and install the hood, #2 phillips screwdriver, wire cutter, knife to trim wire, and plier to crimp connector. See pictures. Fan motor does make a different sound than the original but it works and the old one didn't. The fan itself is also about 1/2" less diameter but that doesn't seem to have made a difference in effectiveness.
Easy installation! The fan blade was about a half short in diameter but the bug screen covered it up. A manual didn't come with the shipment. However, Amy from customer service got me all of the information I needed to complete the install. Thanks again and I highly recommend this unit for a Fantastic RV vent fan replacement.
My original Fantastic Fan purchased on Amazon failed after only a couple month. Very disappointing since it was a major installation on my cargo trailer. Fortunately etrailer carries replacement fans. Amazing product inventory for sure. The fan arrived in perfect conditions and was relatively easy to install. Now fingers crossed this one last longer than the original. Fantastic Fans I've had on previous RV's never had a problem.

Still working fine. I have in on my cargo trailer which is loaded with camping gear. I keep it on with thermostat setting around 85F during the hot months. It runs most of the day. Very satisfied with its performance.
It runs slower than the original thus moves less air. Also, it’s gotta click in. It has from the first moment I plugged it in there’s no visible sign that the fan is actually hitting anything so it must be internal to the motor. Anyway, not satisfied with it. It’s also a hassle to take in and out, which is why I haven’t asked for a refund or an exchange however, at this point, I would like an exchange
Fits great
This is the original Atwood equipment, not a copy. I am using it to retrofit into the original vent on a 1967 Airstream Globetrotter. Attached photo is the fitment trial, it should be perfect. I have 1-1/2 inch aluminum angle to make mounting brackets to use the original holes in the Airstream and the fan. Will probably use a radiator mounting kit to install it on springs.
Delivery was on time and I installed the two of them with ease and they work great.
Was able to install into original 1967 vent, by making a mount with some aluminum angle. Quality original fantastic fan part
