Guide-on posts make it easy to load your boat onto your trailer and back your trailer down the ramp. They attach to the rear of your trailer and extend out of the water, providing visual targets to center the boat between during loading.

Guide Your Boat Into and Out of the Water with Ease
When your boat trailer has been backed down the ramp and is partially submerged, these 60" tall guideposts that are mounted on the rear corners of the frame will stick out of the water, giving you 2 highly visible targets to guide your boat between for loading. The PVC pipes also provide a visual aid to help you back your boat trailer down the ramp when you're unloading and loading your boat.
Installation
The posts are simple to install. Slide the PVC pipes over the pre-galvanized steel support posts. Then mount the posts on the top or below the trailer frame, as close to the rear corners as possible. Adjust the posts so that the distance between each post and your boat is less than 1".
Pre-Galvanized Steel
Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating (less than 1 mil) and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

Only complaint is the manufacturer needs to apply something to end of steel tubing to prevent damage to the PVC poles during shipping
These Guide-Ons were easy to install and fit my trailer perfectly.
The extra width of this model worked beautifully for my sailboat. I have a cat boat with a wide beam and needed the wider brackets to extend for the middle width of the boat. The guide on’s worked perfectly. Without them loading was a pain and took multiple times loading. The posts gave me a once and for all perfect load. Very pleased!
They were easy to install- they arrived a little beat up from shipping- they should probably wrap a little plastic around the PVC- not that big of a deal
I recieved the guide-ons very quickly. Installing them is very easy out of the box. It took me longer because I added a 1 1/2" od aluminum pipe between the 2 guides for added stability. The pipe slid into the square tubing and they are rock solid now. We took the boat out for the first time with the guide-ons and it helps with loading the boat greatly. I could not see my trailer behind my truck before without the boat on it. Now backing down the ramp is a breeze to retrieve the boat. I could have gone with the shorter poles but I'm glad I didn't. The more visibility the better.
Running into issues with the install. Unfortunately your customer service tech was not too helpful, courteous but not very helpful.
I have a Triton trailer, tandem axle, sidesteps in front & behind wheel fender. Doesn't appear to be a good place for the install unless half way up the boat.
Any recommendations on the install? Previous customers with Triton trailers? I don't prefer "cutting" a hole or notch into my fender as the tech recommended.
Thanks for your response.
Will keep ordering my from here because the service is very fast..and great customer support
Quick delivery on the trailer guides, easy installation on my galvanized trailer, although the product fit perfectly, I was not sure if the steel parts were galvanized so I decided to clear coat all the parts. Not a deal breaker looks good.
After reading other reviews I wasn't sure about the height...but it turns out 60" was perfect for me. I mounted them below the frame and I have a taller hull than the picture, so mine don't stick up quite that tall. They are super easy to install, and provide great targeting lines for whoever is trailering the boat. I am now rethinking the light kit on top, just because other vehicles on the road have a tendency not to look down at the trailer lights, so they don't see the turn signals as well. I included a picture taken the day they were installed (not great quality).
I am very pleased. The guides arrived very quickly -like two days -and were easy to install.
I have ordered everything for my used trailer including spare tire, trailer hitch receiver and the ball mount. The ball mount gave me an 8in rise which is what I needed for my Toyota Tacoma.
Etrailer follows up and does a great job.
Poor quality, cheap material, and missing hardware. I took them right back off. I hope these can be returned?
GREAT product. Installed it and first time out it was worth the investment. got the boat on the trailer first shot and these are sturdy as well. strongly recommend this system for any trailered boat
Order arrived a day earlier than expected and the trailer guides/post are wel made and very easy to install.
Outstanding service. Super fast delivery. It arrived a day earlier than expected. Easy to understand installation instructions.
Good product, good price, BUT if like me you have a heavy duty boat trailer with a 5" tall frame
it clearly says you will need a different bolt kit. I read too quickly and thought it would fit a 5" frame. Not a big deal. I just bought some longer U bolts that work. I would buy again. Etraier always works well for me.
What’s great company. My first delivery the package was broken into before it got to me and parts were missing. I contacted Carole and George and they immediately send me the missing parts. They stayed in contact with me to make sure they arrived on time. I installed the guide IBS on my boat trailer and they work great. Very easy install. Thanks etrailer.
I am giving this product a four star rating for now. It feels sturdy and should last, but until I actually use it at the boat dock I will not know for sure if it lives up to my expectations. I trimmed 6 inches off the PVC extensions just to make sure they cannot interfere with my downriggers. I strongly recommend you follow etrailers' recommendation to prime and paint these guides even though they were galvanized prior to being stamped.
I love these guides to my trailer. I am new to boating about a year. They really help me find the trailer. After 20+ boat trailering, I still love having them as a guide, especially when the wind is an issue. Every trailer needs these. 100% satisfied.
Haven't tried these out yet but did get them installed. The PVC tube was extremely hard to get on. I had to beat it with a hammer and piece of wood and the slit didn't line up properly so that was a bummer. No way to take it off it's so tight. It actually cut into the PVC on the 4 corners so it will have to be cut off if ever taken off. That is disappointing. We will see how it works when I go to the lake but I'm assuming it will work as it should.
Product shipped was exactly as described. Easy to install and all necessary parts included. Arrived as promised. Instructions could have been a little clearer, but that could just be me. I've ordered from etrailer before never disappointed. Installed on my 20' sailboat at close to midship. etrailer is my first choice.
Fast service and good quality product at a great price.
Process was great, but USPS took 2 extra days to deliver but we know how useless the postal service is. etrailer is fantastic though so it makes up for it. Let’s Go Brandon!
The Trailer Guides worked well as designed and intended to! (They helped placed the #4800lb boat on-center to the trailer within an inch or so.) Very pleased, and never will be without them!
The product looks as advertised and installed easily. I had seen reviews of similar guides where the tubes did not fit well over the frame, but these fit perfect. Have not launched the boat with them yet, so cannot comment on performance. I have buddies that own guides of this design, and they are very pleased with the product.
After I was informed that etrailer was out of stock and I could expect shipment at the end of August, I was delighted when my order arrived ahead of time. The trailer guides were as advertised, easy to install, and I felt that etrailer had my back if there was a problem. Thank you, etrailer!
