Etrailer is now my go to merchant for all of my RV and trailer towing needs. I recently purchased a new truck and needed a Curt 5th Wheel Hitch. I had the choice between etrailer and a major online vendor. Unfortunately, although the price and shipping dates were the same I went with the major online vendor. Weeks later, instead of 5-7 days, my order arrived. However, what arrived was only the head for the hitch and the legs were missing. I called customer service and was told that there was a second shipment coming and would arrive on XX date. Well, XX date came and went with no shipment arriving. Silly me, I should have asked for a tracking number the first time. Hence I called customer service to get a tracking number but this time I was told that there was no second shipment and that I had received bad information. The order showed complete and had been closed. Due to the language barrier and a lack of product knowledge, I had a hard time trying to explain to the rep that the "wheel hitch" as he called it needed legs to be functional. The rep was having a hard time trying to grasp why some type of wheel needed legs and so we just agreed that we would call the product defective and he would issue a credit that would cover my cost to buy the necessary "repair" parts. Although it was 6:16 PM my time and 7:16 PM where etrailer is located, I place a phone call to see if it was possible to purchase just the legs for a A30 hitch and if so, how much of a credit I would need to cover the cost. Much to my surprise not only was the phone answered, it was not a series of automated voice instructions but a live person, Emily. My next surprise was that she was located in the US AND her first language was English.... In short, Emily was able to tell me that although my Amazon order, which clearly showed Curt part number 16070 (complete assembly) the vendor had shipped part number 16590 (head only). Therefore what I needed was part number 16024 (legs only) to make a complete unit (16070). To my surprise, Emily apologized several times for the problems, delays and fustrations that I was experiencing although it was no fault of hers or etrailer. I had no way to move my trailer until I had the new hitch. Emily said that she could take the order over the phone to get things going rather than having me go out to the web site to place the order. She said that I would have the legs in five to seven days depending on where it was actually shipped from. I thanked her for her help and assistance and hung up the phone. At 6:35PM that evening I received the email confirmation that my order had been placed. And then AGAIN to my surprise at 7:11PM I received another email stating that my order had been shipped and I would be receiving it within 48 hours. Sure enough, 42 hours later I had the legs in my hands. Needles to say, or obviously, etrailer and Emily are the first people I turn to when I need RV or trailer towing items. Customer Service is still King. Thanks a million to Emily and Etrailer...
etrailer was great - start to finish. The regular order updates were very helpful. The hitch feet were easy to install to the hitch. I just watched the Youtube videos for point by point installation instructions.
Can’t beat getting some parts with scratches for incredible prices
