Ordered this hitch for my 2015 2-door Mini Cooper (just a plain Mini -- not an S or a "John C works"). NOTE: 2015 Minis have the spare under the car (even though the etrailer site seems to suggest that SOME 2015 Minis do not), so I needed to "sacrifice" my spare tire to install the hitch. I read online that most new cars don't come with spares. I am a retired lady and drive only in town and I would call roadside service for a flat. (I purchased an emergency air-compressor kit for peace of mind.) I took the hitch to my mechanic, who appreciated the install sheet I printed out (he had never installed a hitch on a Mini) and other information on the etrailer site. I got the hitch so I can use a Thule Helium Aero 2-bike rack (see photos). It looks great and works great.
The hitch fit wonderfully on our 2022 Mini-Cooper four door.

etrailer should had told me that the model I purchased required the removal of a spare tire. There is another model that doesnt require the removal of the spare. I was on my way to the emergency vet with 2 dogs in the car and hit a pot hole and blew out my tire...I wish I had my spare ...I received BAD information!

This Curt hitch part C11417 is not designed to fit mini coopers with a spare tire stored underneath the vehicle. If you would like to keep your spare tire stored underneath the vehicle you will need ecohitch part # 306-X7290.

After one year, this hitch continues to work perfectly on my Mini, allowing me to use the Thule Helium Aero bike rack. Ive taken my bike to the beach a 300-mile round trip on the rack and on many trips to local bike trails. No problems only fun with my bike! And my Mini has not had a flat tire so I have not had to use my emergency air-compressor kit. :
