Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2014 Mini Cooper

Question:

I have a customer who I am trying to get the correct hitch for. It is a 2014 Mini Cooper, the listed hitches dont specify 3 or 5 door though. I have pictures for reference.

If your customer has the 2014 Mini Cooper Hardtop with the single exhaust, and it is not the S Series or John Cooper Works, then I recommend the Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11417. This will fit the base model Cooper whether it is the 3-door or 5-door model hatchback.

This Class I hitch will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation, although you will need to remove and reattach the bumper beam and plastic bumper support. Also note that the hitch will not fit with the spare tire stored underneath, if one is present. The hitch features a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and sports a 200 pound tongue weight capacity.
