This solar battery charger has done a great job keeping my snowmobile battery charged all summer long. The area my trailer is parked in only gets direct sunlight for part of the day but the solar panel still takes in enough sunlight to get the job done even in partial shade. I made a frame and stand that the solar panel mounts to and attached the assembly to my trailer, the whole assembly is easily removable. I plan to get a few more of these for keeping other batteries charged like the one in my boat and my spare vehicles.

by:

Well I finally got the panel mounted on a removeable holder much like the picture on your web site. Once I recharged my RV battery to full charge this panel has had no problem keeping the battery charged while not in use. I highly recommend this panel for this purpose.

by:

It worked just as expected and was a high quality choice from etrailer. It was nice that this site didn’t have a million options to choose from and this one works!

by:

Picked this solar charger for 2 reasons, first was the price....second was the 7.5 volt charge vs 5.0 like most others. This was easy to setup and with the Arizona sun, it keeps my 12 v battery charged for my winch and power jack. I bought a second one for my other trailer

by:

Just what the Doc. ordered..This little thing is great, bought it for a dump trailer about a year ago and I have not had any trouble with the battery since. A good hot battery when you get to the trash dump is a must, unloading by hand is a pain. I plan to buy more for other equipment, lawnmower, chipper, tractor its just a great battery maintenance tool for your battery.

by:

Works great! We put it on a tilt bed trailer that we use for our UTV and ever since we installed it we have not had a dead battery. The battery usually dies over the winter but not this year! We will be ordering more in the near future for more trailers.

  • Solar Panel Battery Charger
The perfect solution is the Bright Way # BRW54FR Solar Battery Charger. Small, cost effective, versatile and easily up to the job. I personally installed this charger on my trailer last October and it kept the batteries (two 6-volt, 235 Amp Hour) topped off all winter long. Lots of options for installation. Comes with it's own inline charge controller. Just hook up to batteries - face towards sun - all done.

  • Will the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger Work with Group 27 Batteries
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger part # BRW54FR will work on a group 27 battery as they are 12 volt and meet the 5 or more amp hour minimum. Please note, this won't charge a battery from dead but rather make sure it stays topped off.

  • Will Bright Way Solar Battery Charger BRW54FR Overcharge Battery
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger - 7.5 Watt Solar Panel # BRW54FR has a controller, so it won't overcharge your battery. I have added links below to a couple video reviews for you to check out as well of the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger - 7.5 Watt Solar Panel # BRW54FR.

  • Could Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR be Used as Trickle Charger for Towed Vehicle
Yes you could use the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR to charge a battery being towed by a motorhome. The output of this is 7.5 watts.

  • Will the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger Work with Two Separate Batteries
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger part # BRW54FR is for a single battery or a single bank of batteries (12 Volt Only). If you have multiple batteries or multiple battery banks then you'd need to hook up a solar panel to each depending on your goal and power needs.

  • How To Hook Up Bright Way Solar Battery Charger To Two 6 Volt Batteries
Yes, the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger part # BRW54FR can be used on 6 volt batteries but only if they are attached in series to bring the total to 12 volts. In which case, you would attach the two cables from the panel to the outgoing lines of the battery bank.

  • Solution for Charging Breakaway and Trailer Battery With Bright Way Solar Battery Charger
In order to charge both your breakaway battery and the trailer battery you will need 2 of the # BRW54FR. These batteries cannot be wired together since they will have different amp hour ratings. This means it is not possible to use the single panel to charge them both at the same time. If you want to stick with a single panel you would have to unhook it from one battery and attach it to the other as needed.

  • Can BRW77FR Be Wired To The Battery In Conjunction With A Solar Charger
The problem to watch out for, is not the voltage, it's the current (cfm). If your battery recommends 30a max charge current and both of your chargers are rated at 15a, you're good to use them both at the same time. If your chargers are both 30a units, then you could damage your battery. Since both the Solar # BRW54FR and wall charger # BRW77FR are 7.5 Watts I don't see there being an issue. The wall charger has a cut off when the batter is fully charged and the solar will maintain the the...

  • Best Solar Panel for Keeping Breakaway Battery Charged
I have a solution for you but you won't be able to get enough power off of the center pin. That's the reverse circuit and it has the least amount of voltage. You won't be able to charge both your break away system and your marine battery off of the accessory circuit either. I recommend using the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger - 7.5 Watt Solar Panel item # BRW54FR to keep your breakaway battery charged and then using the accessory circuit to charge your marine battery. I have linked a...

  • How Do I Keep My Trailers Break Away Battery Charged When In Storage?
For maintaining your trailer battery I recommend using a Duracell Battery Charger and Maintainer # DU87FR. This will plug into a standard wall outlet and charge/maintain your battery to help extend the battery life. If you park your trailer where you do not have easy access to power the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR can be used to charge the battery. This can be mounted to part of the trailer and is also easily removable with the 2 prong in line plug. If you store your...

  • I Need a Battery To Operate The Jacks On My Slide In Truck Camper
I recommend a Bright Way Deep Cycle RV Battery # BRW34FR. This AGM battery is sealed and does not require the maintenance of a traditional lead acid battery. When not in use it is important to provide a battery charge maintainer to ensure the battery voltage does not drop to low. A Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR will provide up to 7.5 watts of charge from the sun. • Recommended Way to Charge my Trailer's Breakaway Battery
Both the CTEK US 0.8 Universal Battery Charger with Pulse Maintenance part # CTEK56865 and the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer part # BRW54FR would work well for this application. I prefer the solar option as it wouldn't require shore power. As an alternative I would instead use just the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with Built-In Battery Charger part # 20400. Since you're already going to be installing a breakaway kit why not one with a built in...

  • Can Solar Panel be Used to Charge Breakaway Battery
Sure, if you don't want to use a breakaway battery system with a built-in charger like the Hopkins Engager # 20099, you can use a solar panel. What you can use for a smaller breakaway battery is the 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997. However, this has alligator clamps so it will be a bit more cumbersome to utilize; if your breakaway battery is a 12-volt battery with at least 5 amp-hours a better option due to its ring terminals is the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger - 7.5 Watt...

  • Is There Trailer Breakaway Kit With Solar Charger
You can add a solar charger separately to a trailer breakaway kit, but there isn't a kit with an included solar charger. So there are a couple of options for you to add a charger to the Tekonsha Shur-Set III Trailer Breakaway Kit - Side Load # 20005. What you can do is add either the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR or 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997.

  • Portable Solar Panel Charger for Charging RV Batteries During Day
That amount of amperage/wattage that the two charger kits you mentioned are capable of really wouldn't be adequate to charge a depleted battery. Especially in a day as they are more designed to keep a battery topped off in storage more than anything. These both can put out up to 7.5 watts. You'd want something with more output than that like the Goal Zero Boulder Briefcase Kit part # 287-32408 which is rated for 100 watts.

The Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter - GFCI - 2,000 Watt - 12V # 34278156 runs off of battery (DC) power and not shore power (AC). The inverter converts DC voltage to AC voltage so you wouldn't want to or be able to power it with AC voltage. • Winch Boat Hoist and Charging Recommendations For Marine Applications
I recommend using a winch with a synthetic rope. Since you'll be by the water when using this winch, it won't rust over time. This winch # BDW15018 has 3,400 lbs of capacity so it should be plenty for what you need. I use a Optima Marine battery for any application needing a 12V battery. These are the best in my experience. Since this winch has a 12V motor, I recommend using an optima marine 12V. Since you're boating, I presume that it will be at least overcast out and not storming, if...

  • Shore Power Battery Charging For Brake System & Accessories
You'll need to run the wires from the charger directly to your battery # HM20008. If it were my trailer, I would get a charger like this # BRW54FR because it's FREE energy!! This one is a trickle charger putting out about 7.5 watts which is good for any battery with 5 amp hours or more. It can go on the side of the trailer where your battery is so the wiring won't go from one end of the trailer to the next. It's also pretty low profile so it's not an eye sore. That being said, you should...

The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR has a one way diode to prevent it from draining your battery. The electricity will flow one way and one way only. As far as over charging goes, my co-worker had this charger on his enclosed trailer ALL WINTER LONG to charge his two 6V batteries and it did not overcharge them.
