Does 7.5 Watt Bright Way Solar Battery Charger Need to Be Disconnected When Hooked to Tow Vehicle
Published 12/20/2022 >
Question:
Looking at your Bright Way Solar Battery Charger - 7.5 Watt Solar Panel kit. Question for you_ do I need to disconnect it from the horse trailer battery while driving the horse trailer? My preference is to wire it up to battery and mount solar panel and other then system maintenance doing nothing. Thanks

Great question!
You will be fine leaving the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR connected to your trailer battery bank while connected to your tow vehicle. Neither source should provide enough power to overcharge your bank.
The only time I would worry about disconnecting the solar panel kit is if you're going to be driving around a lot on any given day or if you'll be going on a road trip. In theory you should still be okay to leave it connected but I always like to stay on the cautious side of things than to push limits.
The nice thing is that the connection from the solar panel to the box is a quick disconnect and you should be able to locate it in an easy-to-reach area near your battery bank so you don't have to work to disconnect the charger.
