The only weight capacities you need to consider are for the tow vehicle, the hitch, ball mount, and hitch ball. The tongue weight of a trailer puts so much downward force on the ball mount that it binds it up so well in the hitch that the hitch pin doesn't actually have any force put on it.   With the Master Lock Hitch Receiver and Coupler Latch Lock Set part # 1481DAT not meeting your needs in function I recommend using the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver and Coupler Lockset part # e99039 instead. These utilize a screw together lock set that work very very well. I like the coupler lock much more that the one that comes with the Master Lock set because it is not as long. The etrailer lock will snug right up against the coupler latch and will help prevent theft.

The hitch lock # AM3492 will also include a hitch pin lock and both keys are keyed alike. The Master Lock hitch lock set # 1481DAT you referenced will not work with the aluminum ball mount kit # AM3410 because it's too short. It's only 2-3/4 inches in length.   The pins used in the latch hole on a trailer coupler are not actually holding anything together. They are simply an anti-theft mechanism which stops anyone from being able to open the latch and either uncoupling or coupling the trailer with the pin left installed. I supposed they could also be looked at as a fail safe while out on the road as well. That said, the pins are all 1/4" so I think the manufacturer may have confused that part.
