Tarps for trucks and trailers — tough coverage
Keep your gear protected from wind and weather with tarps made for real work. Pick mesh tarps for keeping loads covered on dump trailers or go with heavy-duty silver tarps with a polyethylene coating that resists UV and harsh weather. Tie-down points along the edges make securing easier, and some styles use steel grommets for a solid hold—great for pickup beds, rock loads, leaf cleanups, and construction debris.
Match the material to how you'll use it. For harsh weather and sun, look for a heavy-duty silver tarp with a polyethylene coating that resists UV rays and harsh weather and a 14 x 14 weave. For airflow and debris control, a mesh tarp made from 100 percent polyethylene at 6.5 ounces per square yard works well. Check your load type and whether you need water shedding or breathability.
Distribute the load across multiple tie-down points and avoid over-tensioning a single grommet. Use bungee tie-downs or straps at regular intervals and add extra ties where wind hits hardest.
