Using 6-Wire Thermostat Wiring with Atwood Thermostat for New AC Unit Install

Question:
I purchased the Atwood wall mount AT15029 thermostat to go with my new Dometic Atwood 15k heat pump.. I do also have a Furnace. The old thermostat is wired for a Dometic Analog manual thermostat with 6 wires.. the new thermostat only has 4 wires .. Do I need to run new comparable wires from AC to thermostat location? The old unit was a Dometic Brisk. 2008

You will need to go with the Dometic thermostat part # DMC79FR as what you have now will not work with what you just installed.
