Swagman Truck Bed Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Fork Mount - 9-mm Skewer
Used this bike rack for the first time this past weekend and it worked perfectly. I drove down a fairly bumpy dirt road and it held true to the truck bed and held the bikes steady. etrailer had a great price and shipped it quickly. I would highly recommend it rather than spending more than twice as much for a similar rack. I didn't expect to find a bike rack like this for this price. Assembly, installation and operation are all very easy.
For the money this truck bed bike rack is unbeatable. Comes with all needed hardware to get you set up in no time at all. Also comes with an option insert pin that can be placed at the bottom of each pressure plate for added security, if you are worried about it moving during transportation. If you do your homework, you will find the leading brands are selling the same device for more than double the price. Don't waste your money on the name brands, unless your worried about keeping up with the "Johnson's". Five star product....highly recommended.

Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
We are happy with our Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack; it has performed above average on highways and dirt roads and is a breeze to attach to our truck, thank you for a great product.
I like the overall design of this rack, but unfortunately after hauling a couple bikes around for a while the point where the crossbar connects has apparently rounded off so the rack swings back and forth. I've used rope to tie the ends of the rack to the car to stop this from getting worse, but it's inconvenient. Note: the hitch connection itself is good and solid, but the point where the crossbar connects to the bar coming from the hitch has gotten loose and there's no way that I can see to tighten it.

Softride Shuttle Pad Tailgate Pad for Full-Size Trucks - Up to 6 Bikes - 61" Wide
Fit great. can wait to tested in my next trip. came little late, but hope will work for us.
The fit for a 2014 Ram was spot on, no issue with the wide style tailgate top and the access flap for the tailgate handle lined up perfectly. Material is durable and easy to clean, the only thing holding it from a 5 stars is if it had the padded dividers on top to keep the bikes separated. But for the price, the fit and finish was exceptional, great value !!!

Inno Velo Gripper Bike Rack for Truck Beds - Clamp On
Using the Grippers for carrying 2 ebikes, weighing 55 & 75 lbs. I know this is above the rated bike weights but so far they have performed well. My short bed keeps the 75# bike pretty well locked in front to back so that may help.

Hollywood Racks Truck Bed Bike Carrier - Fork Mount - Bolt On
These racks were just as advertised. I mounted them on a 2x4 and then clamped that into the front of my bed. They worked great. The thing about these racks is that they are so versatile. They could be used in any number of ways. You just have to give it some thought. And whatever you come up with, you haven't spent a fortune either.
The Hollywood Racks Truck Bed Bike Carrier - Fork Mount - Bolt On, is just what I was looking for to be able to build a bike rack for carrying one of my bikes on my motorcycle. It was easy to mount and it holds my bike in place while riding on bumpy dirt roads, city streets, highways and even when I hit some twisty country roads. It's really easy to load and unload my bike when I get to where I want to ride. I use a velcro strap around the quick-release and the fork arm as an added safety as well as a couple tie-downs from my bike handlebars to my motorcycle passenger pegs to help distribute the weight on my rack. If you want to build your own DIY bike rack I totally recommend the Hollywood Racks Truck Bed Bike Carrier - Fork Mount - Bolt On.

Thule Insta-Gater Pro Truck Bed Bike Rack - 1 Bike
Linda and I recently ordered two Aventon Pace 500 NextGen E-bikes from [bike store] in Madison, WI. Not wanting to just toss our expensive new bikes in the back of the p/u when they arrive next month we promptly ordered the Thule Instagator from etrailer. My prior experience with etrailer came as a recommendation from a friend. I was able to do quite a bit of the research on etrailers website, the demonstration video extremely helpful and we placed an order. The racks were in-stock, shipped promptly, etrailer providing a very nice tracking link that included pics of the staff involved in processing the order and a map of the route all the way to delivery. Absolutely 1st rate service. The racks showed up in perfect condition about two days after placing the order, exactly as promised. We are very pleased with etrailer, will most certainly be ordering from them again and recommend this company w/o reservation. Nice job etrailer!
I bought two racks to transport my ebikes. The tires do not fit in the rack. the cradle that holds the tire require to be wider. I need to return them. please assist me in this matter. thank you

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
First-time rack buyer / owner / installer. The rack arrived in a timely fashion, maybe a day or 2 ahead of schedule. It was well packaged. I’m LOVING this bike rack. It was easy to put together and to mount on my new Honda Passport. Thus far, no squeaks in my 2” receiver. Hardest part of initial set-up is figuring out the best way to position two bikes. Trial & error and some patience. The directions weren’t clear as to where the 2 left-over screws went. I found the answer in another review and have posted a pic in case others have the same problem (photo with pen pointing at screw). These screws go in the underneath side of both of the folding arms. They appear to keep the wheel wells from sliding off in case in you drive with an empty, un-folded rack, and forgot to tighten down the wheel wells. The folding arm push / pull pins can be difficult at times. I coated the tips with some lube. That and a little jiggling seems to solve that issue. I guess it’s better for the pins to be snug vs popping right out. I added a small Master lock to the hitch pin (in lieu of the provided cotter pin) as a theft deterrent. I read that a 3/16 shackle lock will fit into the bike clamp down arms to also act as a deterrent. I had an old 3/16 lock that did snugly fit and appeared to be locked. HOWEVER, I yanked on the lock and it came open as there isn’t quite enough clearance for the shackle to lock. I discovered that longer 3/16 shackle locks are hard to find. Have attached a photo of the lock that actually fits and works (Ace Hardware). One lock on the upper clamp down arm will secure both arms as the lower arm can’t be removed without removing the upper arm. The clamp down arms appear to be coated to prevent damage to your bike. I’ve tried a simple rag and ultimately settled on pool noodle pieces as a precautionary measure. I CAN NOT open my tailgate (regardless of whether or not the rack is fold up and in the bike carry position). If that’s a concern for you, then spring for the more costly titling version. My back-up camera still functions.
The Swagman XTC-2 platform bike carrier arrived very quickly from etrailer and in good shape, the actual carrier box is inside another shipper box, which I'm sure helped with its condition. Assembly was relatively quick and painless, even though the instructions could be a little more thorough. Installing the carrier on the back of our Jeep Patriot also was quick, it helps to have an extra ratchet & 3/4" socket laying around for just this purpose. Installing the bikes takes a little patience and trial and error the first time you try and put them on the carrier. It's easy enough to adjust the wheel holders to fit the wheelbase of your bikes, but for us at least, the challenge was trying to swing the vertical support bar up into position after putting on the first bike (closest to the Jeep). We couldn't angle the bike enough toward the Jeep to have the bar clear the bike. We learned that the easiest way to secure the first bike was to remove the ratcheting frame hooks altogether, put the bike in the carrier, swing up the vertical support bar, put in the pin, and then slide one of the frame hooks down on the bar. The outside bike is much easier because you can set the bike in the carrier at whatever angle you need, not being limited by the back of the vehicle. One thing we did to protect the bike frames was to use some foam pipe insulation as cushion between the frame hook and the frame (see pictures). Once you get a system for installing the bikes, it is very quick to load/unload them. The rack seems to be well made and doesn't wiggle excessively when traveling. All in all a good product for a good price, would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a platform bike carrier.

Thule GateMate Pro Tailgate Pad for Full-Size Trucks - Up to 7 Bikes - 53" Wide
I only gave this 3 stars because the straps that fasten the bike to the pad is to long to use on a tube for a normal road bike. The straps are 16 inches long and it wraps around my bikes twice leaving no room to fasten the strap together. I thought this seemed strange so I called etrailer customer service which gave me Thule service number and they seem to understand the issue but had the only solution of using a zip tie. It seems the straps work for a Mountain bike but not for smaller tubed bikes. Just keep this in mind when ordering. I also think you will need to secure the back of the bike if you are only hauling 1 or 2 so the not flop around.
It has 7 different areas to strap bicycles down but there is definitely not room to strap 7 bikes down from what I can tell. The straps were a little tricky to feed under the tailgate and pull up at the same time with only one person. Overall it works pretty well but it appears to only have enough room for 4 MTN bikes.

Swagman Patrol Truck Bed Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Fork Mount - 9-mm Skewer and 15-mm Thru-Axle
rack tends to work itself loose from bed walls during long trips. had to strap down with ratchet straps to keep from moving. locks only work at a specific angle -- wish the manual had said this because we couldn't lock our bikes until figuring it out.
Excellent Customer service and help for this product. Thank you Carol and Neil your the best.

Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I ordered the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack on line from etrailer and so far have been very satisfied. The bike rack was delivered in less than a week. Unpacking the rack and assembly was fairly straightforward. I have read some reviews that complained the assembly instructions were a bit vague. I didn't have a problem but can see where others without a mechanical background get confused. The rack is very sturdy, but there is some side to side play in the tilt mechanism. I'm not sure this can be avoided with a rack that folds down. Installing the Curt trunk stabilizing strap takes most of the sway out of the rack. Installation is fairly easy and quick. It takes me 6 - 7 minutes to install the back on my hitch, and to install the bike and be ready to drive away. That seems reasonable to me. So far I've only loaded 1 bike. I've included pictures of my installation on a 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 sedan. Clearance between the bikes, the rack and the car are good. With the bike loaded in the inside, most forward position, I have 6" clearance between the pedal and the bumper. With the bike removed, the center support folded flat and the rack folded up in the storage position, I have 4" clearance between the closest part of the bike rack (the fold down hinge assembly) and the back bumper of the car. I am able to open the trunk of the car without removing the bikes or using the tilt feature, but I do have to remove the stabilizing strap first. Overall, I'm very pleased with the bike rack and think it will serve me much better than my old strap on rack. Since the weather has been cool since getting the bike carrier, I haven't taken any long trips to give it a real workout.
Truly grooving on my wife's new Swagman Chinook bike rack. She wanted to be able to transport her nice road bike easily without throwing it in the back of her car, and since a roof rack is out of the question, this Swagman model fit the bill perfectly. It arrived quickly on the anticipated date. Kudos to etrailer.com for the email updates to keep me informed of my purchase. Within one hour, it was installed on my wife's 2014 Mazda3 hatchback. The Swagman is heavy and solid, which is reassuring as it makes me feel confident that it will keep the bikes secure. It also makes me feel like I got my money's worth. A ratchet wrench and Phillip's head screwdriver were the only tools required for the easy install. I did my research before purchasing the Chinook model as I was also eyeballing a very similar Thule rack that was slightly more expensive. I spoke with an etrailer.com expert who gave me the lowdown on both models. Ultimately, the Swagman won out because it has a smaller 'footprint' while extended or folded up ... and also can tilt away from the car for easy access to the hatchback area. Very convenient! FYI: Mazda doesn't make a trailer hitch for the Mazda3 as it's a small car with a small engine and has no business towing anything. Thankfully, the Curt company makes an aftermarket frame and trailer hitch that fits the Mazda3 hatchback perfectly with no drilling. Stupidly, I purchased it from another online company thinking I was getting a good deal. Turns out etrailer.com had it for less with FREE shipping. Oh well ... live and learn. Now I know that etrailer.com is one-stop shopping for bike racks AND trailer hitches. (Full disclosure: I had the garage down the street install the frame as it's easier with a lift) Only snafu: the shipment contained an extra set of keys that I assumed was for the hitch bolt lock (there was also a set of keys on the bolt itself). I spent 15 minutes using those keys trying to figure out how to remove the lock from the bolt to install it on the hitch. The keys just wouldn't turn in the lock. I called etrailer.com and Kevin told me to try the other set of keys ... and they worked. So an extra set of keys came with it that did absolutely nothing ... weird! Obviously, I can't speak to the longevity and durability of the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack as I just installed it. What I can speak to is the sturdiness of it, the ease of the installation and my complete satisfaction with the good folks at etrailer.com.

Thule GateMate Pro Tailgate Pad for Full-Size Trucks - Up to 8 Bikes - 60" Wide
I only gave this 3 stars because the straps that fasten the bike to the pad is to long to use on a tube for a normal road bike. The straps are 16 inches long and it wraps around my bikes twice leaving no room to fasten the strap together. I thought this seemed strange so I called etrailer customer service which gave me Thule service number and they seem to understand the issue but had the only solution of using a zip tie. etrailer has been great in the past and I will order from them again. This experience was mediocre because they advertised free 3 day shipping through a google search for this product. After paying I was notified that it would take longer. I needed the gate mate for a weekend trip and could have gotten it through [online vendor] for the same price, quicker. Not a big deal, just be aware.

Curt Clamp-On Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 2" Ball Mounts
I bought this due to decent reviews. Shipping was rather quick, within 4 days of ordering. Loading all 3 bikes was very tight with two adult bikes and one child bike, but I made it work. As another person posted, the rack is pretty difficult to push down and secure. It takes a lot of force I don't think my wife could have done it. The first time when I tested installing, when I tried to release the rack, it released hard and hit my knuckles. The second time, the spring loaded pin broke (pictures attached) and, once again, my knuckles got hit. Caution really needs to be taken if you have this product. I am giving two stars for this due to the safety concern and the plastic handle breaking. I will be returning for a refund.
The only thing I do not like is when you use the handle to take it off. It springs and hits your hand ever single time. Other then that it is nice.

Rhino-Rack Hybrid Roof Bike Rack - Wheel Mount - Clamp On - Aluminum
Great bike carrier! Etrailer always provides me with high quality products with fast deliveries.
I love the racks, instructions were understandable, one of my end caps came in bad, it can wiggle off after locking but I emailed etrailer and they arranged a replacement quick with rhino rack, pretty nice of them, comes with rhino rack decal and just have to decide where to put it, out my bike up and took it for a test drive and it was very nice, I love their package because it comes with locks and way cheaper than the competitors, very satisfied

Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier - Roof Mount
Overall I am happy with these bike carriers. They mount to the racks over the bed of my Tundra TRD Pro. Installation is simple. I think they could be just a bit sturdier because there is just a bit of wobbling when driving on bumpy roads but I'm not too worried about them coming dislodged. Take note that although they come with a cable lock to attach the bike to the carrier, the key is sold separately.
Very good product. It holds the bike securely on the roof without contacting the frame. It is easy to adjust from my road bike to my 29er mountain bike. Our drives are all relatively short, so I like that I do not need to remove the front wheel to lock in the bike. It's also nice that the SKS locking system allows me to use the same key for this rack that I use for my Yakima roof box and hitch rack. This is my first roof rack and I chose this route for a couple reasons. Some of the roads we travel to get to our trail heads are a bit rough and with a roof rack I don't have to worry about bottoming out a hitch rack hanging off the back of the vehicle. Also, it takes up less room in the garage. Our vehicle is a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with an additional 4 inches of ground clearance. That makes it a bit of a reach for my 5'4" wife, so we take our two-step along to help her. This is my third time purchasing from etrailer, and each experience has been very good. They are a very customer service oriented company. I really appreciate all the additional information they provide on their products, especially all the videos they produce to aid in reviews, assembly, and use.

Curt Bike Rack for 5 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
It was obvious that we received a product that was returned by someone else when the box was overly taped shut, a support collar was broken, and most of the pieces were out of their ripped plastic bags. However, it was a great price to hold 5, 26" and/or 27" Trek bikes. I used a piece of the broken collar and went ahead and assembled the rack. Due to the weight of the 5 bikes it did not wobble that much when driving, as one of the bike tires was up against my car. I can only imagine that if we received an untampered product that this review would have been 5 stars. The picture is a little hard to see, but there are 5 Trek bikes on the rack on my 2020 Toyota Seinna.
We received a damaged box, damaged items, no instructions, the nuts and bolts are completely stripped and not inside a bag. This was obviously used, returned, not checked for quality and sent out. We are extremely upset.

Rhino-Rack Hybrid Roof Bike Rack for Fat Bikes - Wheel Mount - Clamp On - Aluminum
Was very happy with the bike mount. It went together very easy, fit my rails and my bike great. Only complaint is that there was no padding on the rear rail clamp. I didn’t want to rub the paint off my rails so I added a thin piece of rubber and it works perfectly.
Best roof rack I've purchased. I've had it for over a year. It's way better than Thule - more secure and way easier to take on and off - and less expensive. I use it for my road bike and fat back with equal ease. The unique way it attaches to your car rack makes it likely to fit almost any rack. For me, I've used it for a 2016 Sequoia and a 2017 Macan S. BTW, this is one of the few racks I've found that nicely carry a fat back. My tires are 4.5" wide, 26.5 tall...also used it for my 29er on occasion, but fat bikes are way more fun than 29ers. If I were to complain, it is the arm gets a bit stiff sometimes and need to oil it, where my Thule is less inclined to need it...but this complaint does not diminish it from being an excellent/5 start product.

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Gunmetal Gray
This thing is built like a tank! It is of the best fit and funtion I have seen in a bike rack! Solid as can be, fits my bikes perfectly and looks awesome! Plus it folds completely out of the way to access the rear liftgate on my 2022 Rav4!
Great service from etrailer and the rack arrived as expected. Fairly easy assembly. OK video on Kuat’s site, but didn’t cover the foot pedal. Really glad we got the 2” hitch. It tightened up and we’re impressed with the quality and the stability of the rack. We haven’t done a road test yet, but look forward to putting it to the test. We have a Ford F-150 and it works great. The bikes were fairly easy to load with the batteries out and two people. We do need the strap extenders for our RadMini Step Thru’s. The tires are too big for the ones that come with. Only one set of extenders came with the bike and one adapter for a smaller tire. It’s okay, but since it’s a two bike unit, would have been nice to have both extenders. Otherwise, we are really liking the look and stability.
Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500
John: Hey guys, John here for etrailer.com. Today, we have our 2017 Ram 1500 and we are test fitting the Thule GateMate Pro Tailgate Pad. This is 60 inches wide, takes up our entire tailgate, allows us to get our bikes to our favorite destination without installing anything in our hitch or having to install something up on our roof. The GateMate Pro solves a couple different problems for pickup owners. It allows us to get our bikes to our favorite destination using our truck bed, but in an organized way, instead of just tossing our bikes in our truck bed and they get tangled up or they lay down flat or something. We're still able to keep them upright and we can fit multiple bikes at the same time in an organized fashion.
Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500
Today on this 2016 Ram 1500 we're going to be showing you the Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed bike rack, part number TH501. How the bike is actually attached to the rack it's going to have 1 point of contact and that's going to be at the wheel hook here. That holds it in place while it's in the bed of your truck. To loosen that up there's a button at the bottom here. You push that in and that will loosen up the hook enabling you to lower it and take out the bike. To put it in place, it just ratchets into place like so. We'll go ahead and loosen that up, lower it down.
Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500
Today on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Classic two bike platform rack, part number TH9044. As you can see we already have a bike installed. First I want to show you a really neat feature about this. This bike rack can actually tilt away from the vehicle with the bikes still attached and you can gain access to the bed of your truck. To do that, there is this metal pin down here. Just pull that out.
Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500 th9029xt
Today on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-bike rack, Part Number TH9029XT. As you can see, we already have a bike on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a look at how we actually attach it to it. There's going to be three points of contact with your bike's frame. There's going to be two straps up top here and one strap out to the side here which is going to act as an anti-sway strap, keeping it from moving back and forth, possibly hitting the bike racks or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it off to the side. Now once you've removed the straps, it's always a good habit to actually put the straps back into place. You don't want them flapping around while you're driving and you don't want to lose them while you're driving. All right, now with it like this, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you get a better idea of how far this actually sticks out from your vehicle once the bike rack is installed.
Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500 TH912XTR
Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack, part number TH912XTR. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and see how that's done. We're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame to hold it in place. We're going to have two straps up top, here, and one strap off to the side, which is actually going to be an anti-sway strap to keep it going back and forth, possible hitting the bike rack, or the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off, and set it off to the side.
Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500
Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 Bike Platform Style Bike Rack, part number S64650. As you can see, we have the bike already installed, go ahead and go over how it attaches to the vehicle. In this case there is only going to be one point of contact, and that's going to be the frame hook up here. To loosen that up there's this button off to the side, you push that in, and it'll lift the frame hook. When you're doing this, you always want to keep one hand on the bike, so it doesn't fall forward and hit the vehicle. To put it into place, it'll ratchet into place. Let's go ahead and lift the bike up and out of the way. I'm going to go ahead and given you a couple of measurements here.
Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500 s63380
Today on this 2016 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 bike rack number S63380. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack let's go ahead and take a closer look. Now how this bike is actually attached to the rack you're going to have three points of contact, excuse me, four points of contact to the bike's frame. We're going to have three straps up top here plus one off to the side which is going to be kind of an anti-sway strap from keeping it going back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack or even the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it off to the side. With the straps taken off we're going to go ahead and put them back on which is kind of a good practice to get into because you don't want the straps to be kind of flapping around while you're driving and you don't want to lose them while you're driving. Now with that done I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements.
Inno Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500
Today on this 2016 RAM1500 we are going to test fitting the inno velo gripper bike rack for truck beds, part number INRT201. As you can see, we already have the bike installed on our clamps. If you come over here, we will show off some of the features here. It grips it at 2 points of contact to the bike's frame at these wheel mounts here. It has these strips that hold it in place, as well as these anker points on the clamps so you can have additional straps to hold them in place which you can find on etrailer.com. Let's go ahead and remove those straps and take the bike and get it out of the way.
Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500
Today on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Curt Premium 4 bike rack, part number C18064. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look. How this bike is actually attached, is you're going to have three points of contact to your bike's frame. You're going to have two straps up top and one strap off to the side, which is going to act as an anti-sway strap, keeping it from moving back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and remove that and set that off to the side. With straps, it's always a good idea to put them back in place after you take them off. You don't want them flapping around when you're driving.
What our customers are saying:
"I got my hitch in three days. My husband put it on in less than an hour, he says it fit like a glove, no problems. We we're told by the dealer there wasn't a hitch for my Mazdda 6, I got it for a bike rack. Great service. Thanks"
