Trailer Brakes are not required on most trailers under 3,000 lbs unless otherwise stated by the local authorities. This should not be an issue with safety behind your 2014 Subaru Outback, but you can add them if desired. I would just need you to pull a hub and let me know the number on the grease seal and the face of the 2 bearings in that hub. With that info I can get you the parts needed for the upgrade.
The bigger issue with a trailer this size and weight is sway caused by wind... view full answer...
The Loadstar trailer tire you asked about is part # AM3S333. This tire/wheel combo has an 8-ply rating and has a maximum load capacity of 1,725 lbs at 65 psi. This combo has a speed rating of 65 mph. The wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2 wheel bolt pattern. For this size tire this is the tire I would recommend.
I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to determine the wheel bolt pattern on your trailer you can check out.
Most trailer tires do not have to be balanced. Tires and... view full answer...
With a few possible exceptions (large fifth wheels that use LT or Light Truck Tires), we recommended that only trailer tires be used on trailers because they have stiffer sidewalls which do a better job dealing with the vertical load tires experience when installed on a trailer. Also, trailers don't have steering axles, which means the cornering forces trailer tires experience are different than those passenger car tires would.
For a tire to blow out at the sidewall like you described,... view full answer...
The Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches # RHK is going to be a complete hardware kit from the manufacturer. If you still have some of the hardware or can look up the hitch you purchased to determine the size and grade of the bolts then you could also just go get just what's missing without having to purchase everything.
From a safety standpoint I recommend going with the # RHK, replacing all of the hardware, and making sure that everything is properly torqued down to prevent... view full answer...
Yes, the information in the question you mentioned is accurate. This came directly from the folks at Saris. So for the Saris Bones 3 # SA803, if the Hatch Huggers # SA3035 are used in place of the side hooks they do not limit the carrying capacity. That said, you will want to use hatch huggers to replace the side straps on your 2022 Subaru Forrester. view full answer...

I've provided a photo of the etrailer # e98912 Class III hitch installed on a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. There were no appreciable changes to the rear of the Crosstrek for the 2020 model year, so the hitch would appear the same as shown on the 2019. The hitch is a concealed design, with only the receiver tube and safety chain hoops visible. Many find this preferable to something like the Draw-Tite Class III, part # 76209 which would be completely visible. I've provided a photo showing how both... view full answer...
Yes, the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4060K has the DC distribution panel connected to the converter to power it even if a trailer battery isn't connected to it, when hooked up to shore power. view full answer...
To properly measure the height of your hitch, with the tow vehicle parked on level ground, measure from the ground up to the top of your hitch receiver opening. I've attached an install video of the Curt # C13410 on a similar 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon, and the hitch height the installer observed was 15". This hitch is a great product that pairs perfectly with your vehicle.

The factory connector for the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 is located under the rear trim panel on the passenger side, just inside the rear storage compartment on your 2022 Subaru Forester. We have a video of the installation process that I have linked below that will help you through the entire installation process. A Trim Pad Remover Tool # ALL648544 will help you to safely remove the rear trim panel to access the connector.

For the Class I and Class II hitches there is greater need for stabilizing strap than for higher class rated hitches, and may sometimes be required. For this product Curt has chosen to carry over that "recommended" statement but it is not required, etrailer has chosen to not attach that label. The recommendation of using a stabilizing strap such as # 18050, is to avoid putting too much strain on your trailer hitch, minimizing excessive torque experienced caused by side to side movement.... view full answer...
The tires used on the Malone # MPG461KB MicroSport trailer are rated for up to 70mph. According to Malone, the speed is limited mainly by the tires, but also by the bearing set.
The currently available # MPG461KB Malone MircroSport trailers use the readily-available L44649 as the inner and outer wheel bearing. We sell the bearings in a kit which include the L44649 inner and outer bearing, the corresponding inner and outer race, the grease seal, the spindle washer and a replacement cotter... view full answer...
The legalities regarding a cargo carrier obscuring a rear license plate can vary widely by state. Your best bet would be to directly contact the State Police or Department of Transportation in the states in which you will be traveling.
Many cargo carriers do not provide a dedicated place to attach a license plate. You could drill two holes through the rear rail in order to bolt the plate in place to temporarily attach the plate, if needed.

The amperage is going to be the more important factor for a converter like the # PD9280A. We calculate energy for batteries in amp hours, so the higher amount of amps you can recharge in and hour the faster the battery will charge. That being said, batteries do have specifications on how much amperage they can actually accept so you'll want to verify that you battery can even take 80 amps per hour otherwise certain batteries will shut themselves off and not charge or you'd essentially be... view full answer...
I understand your concern. Fortunately, we have not heard about any damage to vehicles' trunks when using the Malone Runway Trunk Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # MPG2142. From the weight distribution of the rack, most of the force is actually allayed to the bottom bar that rests above your bumper and the hooks that attach into the front of the trunk. The angle in your photograph looks normal. I went ahead and attached a picture of our expert installation to give you a comparison. view full answer...
This is not generally necessary. The RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # RKY10004 does have quite a bit of rise built into it so it (12.25"), so it should sit high enough to clear the exhaust on your 2022 Subaru Forrester and not melt.

When enlarging to holes in a frame or even on a hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13382 we'll either spray some clear or black paint over the exposed metal or use a clear or black paint marker to help prevent rust and corrosion.
I'll typically also use a file to clear off any burrs there might be from enlarging the hole with a drill bit before painting it. view full answer...
There is a specific law concerning addition of aftermarket products and their effects on a vehicle warranty, the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation of the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided.
It is not uncommon for auto dealers to be a bit sketchy about aftermarket hitches since they would naturally prefer you purchase their OEM hitch, usually at a premium price compared to the aftermarket products. We have thousands... view full answer...
According to the owner's manual for your 2018 Subaru Outback, tire chains shouldn't be used because of limited clearance to the inside of the wheels, however using Class S cable chains like # PW1042 on the front wheels only would be acceptable.
I'd also recommend using rubber adjusters like part # PW105 to ensure that the cables stay tight to the tires.
