Does Using The Hatch Huggers To Replace Side Straps On My Saris Bones 3 Limit The Carrying Capacity

Hello, I have a Bones Ex 3 bike trunk rack for my Subaru Forester 2022. I somehow missed the fine print on the Hatch Huggers until now that says not to use them with three bikes, which kind of defeats the purpose of Saris saying the rack works for this type of SUV. I saw a previous Etrailer q/a https://www.etrailer.com/question-700343.html that suggested as long as you are using the Huggers to replace the side hooks as you do for the Forester, the lower bike/weight limit bc of the Huggers doesnt apply and you can still use three bikes on the rack. Is that accurate? Thanks

Yes, the information in the question you mentioned is accurate. This came directly from the folks at Saris. So for the Saris Bones 3 # SA803, if the Hatch Huggers # SA3035 are used in place of the side hooks they do not limit the carrying capacity. That said, you will want to use hatch huggers to replace the side straps on your 2022 Subaru Forrester.
