Question:
Will having one of your hitches installed on my Subaru 2017 Legacy, void the car warranty? I am not getting very good answers from Subaru.

There is a specific law concerning addition of aftermarket products and their effects on a vehicle warranty, the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation of the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided.
It is not uncommon for auto dealers to be a bit sketchy about aftermarket hitches since they would naturally prefer you purchase their OEM hitch, usually at a premium price compared to the aftermarket products. We have thousands of customers that have successfully installed superior aftermarket hitch products on their Subaru vehicles without issue. Aftermarket hitches are a better option on a Subaru since the design of their OEM hitches can present compatibility issues with many hitch-mounted products like bike racks and cargo carriers.
We offer both 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches for your 2017 Subaru Legacy that are shown on the linked page. Go for a 2-inch hitch since it will be stronger and offer better compatibility with hitch accessories. Installation of Draw-Tite hitch # 75673 is shown in the linked video.
