Will The Exhaust On My 2022 Subaru Forrester Melt My RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack?

I saw a review on another site that this rack melted on a Subaru Forester. I have a 2022 forester wilderness. They recommend an extension to keep it away from the exhaust, is this necessary?

This is not generally necessary. The RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # RKY10004 does have quite a bit of rise built into it so it (12.25"), so it should sit high enough to clear the exhaust on your 2022 Subaru Forrester and not melt.
