Hey Fred,
The etrailer Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B wasn't designed to be bolted on so I can not confirm that drilling and bolting it to the trailer tongue would be acceptable. I will say that most couplers designed to bolt on to the tongue in this weight capacity would use six 3/8" grade 5 bolts, with three bolts per side running horizontally.
If you'd like a coupler that is designed to be bolted on the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole # DM14793-52 would... view full answer...
No sure what size coupler you have on your 1992 Coleman Destiny Royale trailer, but I can give you the dimensions of the item # CA-5210-B you were looking at to make sure it fits.
I went out to the warehouse and measured the A-Frame Trailer Coupler item # CA-5210-B and the inside width of it measures 8-3/4". You'll want to make sure the spot on your tongue where the coupler installs is 8-3/4" for this one to work. If it's a bit less you can shim it but we'll need to go another direction... view full answer...
Hello Jeff,
Thank you so much for the diagram. I was able to get the measurement you requested, I am sorry I do not have dimensional drawing I can send. We didn't have any stock here at our Wentzville, MO location so I reached out to a friend at our Salt Lake City location and he said it is 3" tall at the spot you requested on the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5335-B.
What kind of trailer are you putting this on? view full answer...
Hello Randy, thanks for reaching out. The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM8509602 can work for that as long as your Scotchman camper uses drum brakes. As far as better options the only thing I see would be the Demco # DM8609502 just because it uses their ez-latch coupler which is durable and easy to deal with. The one you mentioned has a collar lock coupler which is fine, I just like the ez-latch better. Both are about the same dimensionally.
I went to our warehouse and measured the... view full answer...
Based on your measurements it matches our Fulton 50-Degree A-Frame Coupler # FE443050303 which looks to be the same as what is on the 2024 Intech Sol Horizon from the videos I could find. So this would use either the EZ Latch # DM14793-81 or Sleeve-Lock # CA-5196-B coupler. Like you mentioned you will have to drill new holes to match your trailer mounts as they do not use a typical bolt on pattern. view full answer...
Hey Scott, thanks for reaching out!
The length of safety chain will kind of depend on the length of your ball mount, but as a general rule of thumb you can use the 60" Curt Safety Chains with Latching Hooks # C19749 with the 10K Demco Cast Head Coupler w/ Jack Hole # DM37ZR.
These chains are rated for up to 5,000 lbs which works out for your trailer since at most it will weigh 3,000 lbs.
Let me know if you have any other questions! view full answer...
Hi Todd; it will likely work with your Yukon XL but you will have to mock it up/measure to see. Also, it may limit the turning radius depending on your trailer and the exact bike rack you have. We don't have a way of knowing this without measuring or directly testing it.
The distance from the top of the A-frame to the top of the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Bike Rack # CC-275 is 33-1/2". Measure 33-1/2" up from the point you plan to mount it and you will see where it sits on the trailer.... view full answer...
Hey Marlin, from front to back the Bulldog Collar Lok part # BD028386 measures 17-5/8 inches. To get an idea how much longer this would be than what you have I would measure the overall length and the difference would be about how much closer to the front of the trailer your Blue Ox frame brackets would attach. view full answer...
That is a good question, Caludia. The actual load capacity of a trailer is determined by more than just the axles. Things like the frame, tongue, coupler, tires and even suspension hardware can also have a weight rating, and the max rating is determined by the weakest component of the system. So, just because the combined capacity of the axles is 10,000 lbs does not necessarily mean the frame of the trailer, or the coupler are rated for 10,000 lbs. If the trailer has a tag that states 5,000... view full answer...
Assuming you are in that 9-10" range you can use the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 80248. This has a 9-3/4" rise and a gross towing weight of 3,500 lbs which would be perfect for your trailer. You will also need # C40002 for a 1-7/8" ball or # 63845 for a 2" ball.
Just to be sure, I'm going to run through the process to measure for rise/drop. The first thing you need to measure is the hitch height. With the tow vehicle parked on level ground, measure from the ground to the top of your hitch... view full answer...
Standard 3". All A-Frame mounted jacks like the etrailer Round A-Frame Jack item # TJA-5000-B, use the same 3" mounting hole bolt pattern. In other words, the mounting holes are a universal size and pattern so that any A-Frame jack will fit into any A-Frame jack mount. As long as your trailer has an A-Frame jack mount, this jack will fit.
I have linked a review video below so you can see the functions of this jack demonstrated. view full answer...
Hey Jerry, the A-Frame Jack part # TJA-2000S-B that you referenced would be a great option for your a-frame trailer. It has a sidewind like you are wanting and also has more than enough capacity as it rated for 2,000 lb tongue weight and your trailer would have only around 600 lb tongue weight since it weighs 6,000 lbs. view full answer...
Hey John! The # C17062 is to close to really know with only 32" from the coupler to the trailer body. The bars sit approximately 30" back (they measure 30-5/8") and that bracket is 4" wide so it would be another 2".
I'm assuming your 32" measurement is on the inside (which would be the short side) meaning you have a little more space available on the outside. Is that correct? What you can do is use the Chain Hangers for Curt Weight Distribution Systems # C17005. These bolt onto the outside... view full answer...
Hey Phil, congrats on the new trailer. For your 2026 Rockwood Mini Lite 2523MBR, I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control item # FA92-00-1000. This system works with trailers that have tongue weights between 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. This will give you quite a bit of range for how you load your trailer.
The Fastway e2 item # FA92-00-1000 has built in sway control that will keep your trailer inline behind your tow vehicle when you make a sudden lane change or get... view full answer...
Hi Jim; as long as your Bulldog jack has a 2" inner tube diameter you can use the Removable 6" Wheel for Dutton-Lainson A-Frame Trailer Jacks # DL22539. This is slightly stronger with a weight capacity of 1,250 lbs. The same Bulldog # BD500245 for 2" tubes has a capacity of 1,200 lbs. view full answer...
Hey Jerry, finding an a-frame trailer jack with an outer tube of 2 inches is a little harder but we do have the Dutton Lainson part # DL22530 that covers this and would work great. It is a sidewind jack. The inner tubing is 1-3/4 inches which shouldn't be a problem but let me know either way. view full answer...
Hello Wayne. A 3,500 lb jack is going to be more than enough for your 5,000 lb trailer. The 3,500 lb rating is for the tongue weight of the trailer and not the total weight of the trailer. Your tongue weight should be more like 500-700 lbs max so you will be well within capacity for a 3,500 lb jack like the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944017, which is a great choice for an A-frame jack. view full answer...
I googled the grease seal number you mentioned and I did find some options online but when I looked up the size it wasn't one that we carry a suitable replacement for.
For a coupler solution though you could use the Dexter part # T1607500 which you'd want to weld to the top of your trailer frame. It was not designed to fit over a frame channel so your width being wider than usual wouldn't be a factor. view full answer...
Hello Chris, thanks for reaching out. As far as the 4K-5K electric A-frame jacks we carry, there really is not a lot of variation for the bracket height. They are all right around 9".
For example, the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-5000 measures 9-1/4" from the bracket to the bottom of the foot. You can pull the pin and remove the foot which saves less than 1". We do not offer anything that would have more clearance than this.
What kind of trailer is this for? Does it... view full answer...
