I spoke with my contact at Thule who said that the only thing that was able to adapter your Thule Cascade roof box to aero style bars was the XADAPT10 adapter kit but that has been discontinued for quite awhile.
At this point in time you either need to replace your cargo box or see if there are any places that carry the older XAPAT10 kit for you to use. view full answer...

These came with universal mounting hardware as well as an adapter for the square bars which it sounds like that's what you were using. You can try upgrading the mounting to the Replacement 20 mm SpeedLink # 7521241002 but you may need to modify the carrier since this mounting kit wasn't designed for... view full answer...

Unfortunately even the newer model of the Sidearm you are referring to is discontinued so the other parts are not available.
If the rear hardware works for the front even though it is long, it may be the best option. You will need two... view full answer...

Since Thule and SportRack are sister companies many of their replacement parts kits for cargo boxes like your 20+ year old Thule 250 will work with their other products.
