It sounds like you are going to need either the Replacement Motor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps part # LC379147 or the Replacement Gear Box and A Linkage part # LC379160. I spoke with Lippert and was able to cross reference the info provided so I can confirm these are the correct parts. In order to determine which exact component is creating the noise, I recommend isolating each (unhooking shaft from motor and applying power etc). as that would then give you your answer.

Hey Tom, yes the 2014 Ford Edge with the V6 engine is a great vehicle for flat towing. It's perfectly safe to do so as long as you follow the outlined instructions on how that are in the owners manual. The first thing you'll need to flat tow would be the Blue Ox base plate kit part # BX2628 which is a confirmed fit.
In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. One of the most popular... view full answer...
Absolutely! For your 2017 Ford Edge, I recommend using either the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 or the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195. The P2 and P3 are our two top selling brake controllers due to their integrated safeguards and built-in diagnostic checks. The main difference between the two is that the P3 has a nicer display with larger easy to use buttons.
In order to install either of the above brake controllers you are going to... view full answer...
It sounds like you're looking for a weight distribution hitch for your camper, which we do recommend any time the trailer that you'll be towing weighs more than 50% of the weight of your vehicle. When it comes to choosing a weight distribution hitch, you're going to want one where your tongue weight (10-15% of the trailer's total weight) falls towards the middle of the range for the system.
With a 3500-lbs trailer, your tongue weight should be between 350-lbs and 525-lbs, so a system... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Lippert regarding your existing motor/gearbox model 5973820. He stated that the correct replacement motor is the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Motor Replacement Kit # LC379608. This is a direct replacement for the motor that originally came with your assembly and will work perfectly with the existing control unit. For the gearbox you'd then want the part # LC379160 that you mentioned as well. view full answer...
Hey Patrick! There are two options to add wiring to your 2019 Ford Edge depending on what model you have and both are custom fit. I have listed them below:
Titanium and ST - Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C73FR
SEL or SE - Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C89FR
These custom-fit T-connectors plug into your Edge's wiring harness, which is located behind the tail lights. I have linked a couple of installation videos below to show you how to get them set up.

There isn't a quick-install brake controller port on a 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with a tow package for installing a brake controller. In fact the only brake controller we offer that can fit the versions of the 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with the tow package and 7-way is the Prodigy RF part # TK94FR which is a wireless controller that mounts on the trailer.
Let me know when you pick out the Edge and what trailer wiring it has at the rear of it and what brake controller you'd like to install... view full answer...
For the 2020 Ford Edge With Glass Vista Roof and Flush Mount Rails I recommend the Rhino Rack roof rack part # RRVA126B-2, and # RRSX024. The aerodynamic shape of the crossbars along with the Vortex strips in the C-channels significantly cut down on wind noise.
The roof rack is compatible with the glass vista roof on the Edge but I do not recommend opening the sunroof while carrying cargo on the roof rack to avoid damage. Even when you are not carrying cargo and open the sun roof with... view full answer...
Flat towing your Edge will require the following components: a tow bar, a quick-disconnect bar, vehicle base plates, safety cables, a light wiring system and a supplemental braking system. I have included several helpful FAQ articles concerning flat towing and the components required.
The Falcon 2 Tow Bar is manufactured by RoadMaster in several versions. It appears from your photo that you have part # RM-520. Instructions for this part are provided. Your photo shows that the tow bar you... view full answer...
For an application where steeper inclines will be traveled on the Invisi-Brake # RM-8700 would not be my first choice for a supplemental braking system since the braking pressure when you apply the tow vehicle's brakes will always be the same pressure. Instead I'd recommend the DUO part # SM99251 which is a similar type of system but uses an inertia sensor to detect how hard you are applying the tow vehicle brakes and applies a proportionate amount of braking to the towed vehicle's brakes.... view full answer...
The Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack # Y02634 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2018 Ford Edge and it features an adjustable base that is designed specifically to account for factory rear spoilers.
I definitely understand your concern with this area on the vehicle and I will tell you that there are many trunk mount carriers that we don't like recommending for use on these types of vehicles for exactly the reasons you mentioned (physical damage to the spoiler or wear to the... view full answer...
An exhaust tip that re-directs the exhaust gasses downward can indeed help protect items carried on a cargo carrier from excess heat. Using a carrier like # 63153 that has an angled shank to raise the carrier further away from the exhaust pipes also helps.
If you click the provided link, you can see the various tips we have available. To choose the correct tip, you'll need to measure the outside diameter of your exhaust pipe. Most of the tips are weld-on applications, so you'd need to... view full answer...
The various components of a factory towing package can vary greatly between vehicle manufacturers and models. I was not able to confirm what the towing package for your 2017 Ford Edge consists of, but adding aftermarket products to a vehicle will not increase its base towing capacity. This is simply because a vehicle is always going to be limited by its weakest component.
If the owner's manual states a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds for your vehicle (which I was able to verify), then... view full answer...
Hello Brian, thanks for reaching out. The correct wiring harness for your 2019 Ford Edge SEL is the Curt # C89FR. The Tekonsha # 118677 you mentioned is only for the 2015-2018 Edge. The plugs on a 2018 model are similar but they are slightly different. I have included pictures of each plug below and you can see the difference in the positioning of the "tabs". I hope this helps and feel free to reply below with any questions or comments and I will get back to you. view full answer...

Could I see a picture of your coupler by chance? We have the Bulldog Lifelong Trigger-Style Coupler Lock # BD580404 which comes with a trigger lock and a 5/8 inch diameter coupler lock that has a usable span of 2-1/2 inches, but without more info on your coupler it's hard to say if that would be ideal. view full answer...
The fastest and easiest bike rack to install and remove from your 2014 Ford Edge is the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Rack, # TH45JV. This bike rack uses only 2 coated steel cables that hook to the edge of the rear hatch and the ratcheting hubs make it easy to tighten and release the cables. The cables are much easier to use over the traditional nylon straps that fly around in the wind. I have attached a demonstration video for you to check out.
If you will be carrying any women's, children's,... view full answer...
I forwarded this to our tech contact at Roadmaster and here is his response:
When the instructions say the green wire for the ICX (which is the common wire used on the relay) it is referring the the brake signal output. So when wiring to the B set of instructions, it needs to tie into the blue wire.
HOWEVER -- the 2018 Edge require a battery disconnect so you cannot/will not be able to use the brake light relay part # RM-88400. Instead, this vehicle needs a stop light switch kit # RM-751475. view full answer...
Hey Lawrence, the parts you need to get your 2011 Ford Edge Rhino Rack going again would be the fit kit part # DK228 for the fit kit and for the feet part # RRRLKVA. view full answer...
Hey Perry, yeah there are a lot of roof rack options that fit your 2024 Ford Edge ST with a glass roof but I really like the Inno Aero part # IN93ZV as this is a nicer roof rack with aero bars that will help keep wind noise down and also it doesn't cost quite as much as the other similar quality racks so it's the best value as well.
Let me know what you'd plan to carry on the rack and I can help pick out other carriers for that as well. view full answer...
