  • How to Install a Brake Controller and 7-Way on a 2017 Ford Edge
  • Absolutely! For your 2017 Ford Edge, I recommend using either the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 or the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195. The P2 and P3 are our two top selling brake controllers due to their integrated safeguards and built-in diagnostic checks. The main difference between the two is that the P3 has a nicer display with larger easy to use buttons. In order to install either of the above brake controllers you are going to...

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with Tow Package
  • There isn't a quick-install brake controller port on a 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with a tow package for installing a brake controller. In fact the only brake controller we offer that can fit the versions of the 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with the tow package and 7-way is the Prodigy RF part # TK94FR which is a wireless controller that mounts on the trailer. Let me know when you pick out the Edge and what trailer wiring it has at the rear of it and what brake controller you'd like to install...

  • Will Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack Damage Spoiler on 2018 Ford Edge
  • The Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack # Y02634 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2018 Ford Edge and it features an adjustable base that is designed specifically to account for factory rear spoilers. I definitely understand your concern with this area on the vehicle and I will tell you that there are many trunk mount carriers that we don't like recommending for use on these types of vehicles for exactly the reasons you mentioned (physical damage to the spoiler or wear to the...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2017 Ford Edge Titanium
  • The various components of a factory towing package can vary greatly between vehicle manufacturers and models. I was not able to confirm what the towing package for your 2017 Ford Edge consists of, but adding aftermarket products to a vehicle will not increase its base towing capacity. This is simply because a vehicle is always going to be limited by its weakest component. If the owner's manual states a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds for your vehicle (which I was able to verify), then...

  • Hitch and Coupler Lock Recommendation for PortaChopper Trailer with Trigger Latch Coupler
  • Could I see a picture of your coupler by chance? We have the Bulldog Lifelong Trigger-Style Coupler Lock # BD580404 which comes with a trigger lock and a 5/8 inch diameter coupler lock that has a usable span of 2-1/2 inches, but without more info on your coupler it's hard to say if that would be ideal.

  • What is the Best and Easiest Trunk Bike Rack for a 2014 Ford Edge
  • The fastest and easiest bike rack to install and remove from your 2014 Ford Edge is the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Rack, # TH45JV. This bike rack uses only 2 coated steel cables that hook to the edge of the rear hatch and the ratcheting hubs make it easy to tighten and release the cables. The cables are much easier to use over the traditional nylon straps that fly around in the wind. I have attached a demonstration video for you to check out. If you will be carrying any women's, children's,...

  • Extra Parts Needed to Install Roadmaster Even Brake in 2018 Ford Edge
  • I forwarded this to our tech contact at Roadmaster and here is his response: When the instructions say the green wire for the ICX (which is the common wire used on the relay) it is referring the the brake signal output. So when wiring to the B set of instructions, it needs to tie into the blue wire. HOWEVER -- the 2018 Edge require a battery disconnect so you cannot/will not be able to use the brake light relay part # RM-88400. Instead, this vehicle needs a stop light switch kit # RM-751475.

  • Weight of Rola Roof Rack that Fits 2010 Ford Edge
  • The Rola roof rack part number 59770 that you referenced weighs right at 9 lbs. This is a confirmed fit for your 2010 Ford Edge with a naked roof as well. I'd go with a the 75 lb kayak though as you also need to factor in the weight of the carrier you would decide to mount on the rack as well. For a carrier the Thule Hull a Port part # TH834 is a really great option too. It only weighs 9 lbs as well so it would fit in with the weight capacity you have and is easier to install and load...

  • Will the Battery in a 2007-2014 Ford Edge Go Dead While in Tow
  • The battery on a 2007-2014 Ford Edge may go dead after a few hours while in tow if not connected to a charge line like the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25. The charge line provides a trickle charge to the vehicle's battery using the motorhome's battery and is recommended for this vehicle. According to the owner's manual, the key must be placed in the ACC position in order to unlock the steering wheel. A battery disconnect is not recommended/needed. In...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Specialized Haibike Xduro Trekking Bikes
  • I have some great bike rack options for Specialized Haibike Xduro Trekking Bikes but to help narrow down the list of options, wheel mount racks will be out of the question as if the wheel hooks are not wedged between the fork and tire they can slip down and you will lose the bikes. I recommend the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4412B which is very easy to get on and off the vehicle as it only weighs 22.5 lbs.If you want to add locks you can use part # SA981 and part # SA3022

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation On A 2011 Ford Edge SEL
  • We have two Class III hitch receivers available for your 2011 Ford Edge SEL, Curt part # C13067 and Draw-Tite part # 75992. In order to tow a trailer with 2 jet skis, you will need the weight capacity a Class III hitch offers. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver as this hitch will not be as visible from above in comparison to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver. The Draw-Tite Class III hitch is rated for 4000 lbs. of gross trailer weight (GTW) and 400 lbs. of tongue...

  • The combination you mentioned works great for your setup! On a 2014 Ford Edge without rails or crossbars, the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars, part # RRVA137B-2, is a highly-rated crossbar with a lot of versatility. They're aerodynamic and extend past the roof rack legs, giving even more space for mounting your accessories. They also have built-in C-channels for channel-mounting accessories. I've included a link to an installation video for you. Keep in mind that in order to use these...

  • Recommended Base Plates and Components for 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with Adaptive Cruise Control
  • For your 2018 Ford Edge Titanium there is only one base plate kit confirmed to work with the Adaptive Cruise Control. It is the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX2667 which will then require the adapter # RM-031 which works on Sterling tow bars with serial numbers up to 16,500. If the serial number on your tow bar is 16,501 or above, then the adapter # RM-031-5 is the correct fit. • Roof Rack Recommendation for a 2015 Ford Edge with Flush Rails
  • If you really want to be able to install a roof rack on the 2015 Ford Edge you end up buying you will need to buy one without the glass roof option as there are no racks that we offer that would fit that configuration. Get the flush rail configuration if you can and then go with the Thule Aeroblade Edge Rack that consists of part numbers # TH7602B-TH7603B and # THKIT4047. This is an excellent rack that would work and fit well. For a ski carrier the part # TH7324 would be a great option...

  • Recommended Wiring Harness for Flat Towing 2018 Ford Edge Titanium
  • For your 2018 Ford Edge Titanium I recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # HM56011. This is the only custom harness available for your vehicle that will let you install the wiring as a true "plug-and-play" application so you don't have to splice into factory wiring at all. It will plug right into existing ports located behind the rear tail lights and includes a 4-Way connector that you will mount to the front of the Edge. The integrated diodes also prevent any feedback from...
