The Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 # RM-422 comes with just the tow bar, although one feature it does have is cable guides to protect your safety cables and wiring. The Blackhawk 2 has a shipping weight of 64 lbs, so its weight will pretty close to that.
The comparison between the Blackhack 2 and the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain # RM-677 is the Blackhawk 2 has a weight capacity of 10,000 lbs, the Nighthawk 8,000 lbs: the Blackhawk 2 is made of steel and the Nighthawk is made of aluminum. The... view full answer...
The 2009 and 2011 model years of the Cadillac SRX are not within the same generation and so their hitch fits are not the same. The 04-09 model years were the first generation, while 2010 and later model years are within the second generation. Links to hitches for both cars are included.
You'll note that both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitches are available for both cars. In general we recommend going with the 2-inch option because it will have a higher towing capacity, more... view full answer...
I have a solution for you, but there isn't an adapter available that would allow you to connect your 4 inch sewer hose to the smaller macerator hose to create an extension. The macerator hose ends aren't threaded; they are held in place with a metal clamp instead.
We do have longer macerator hoses that can either be used as an extension, or replace the original 10 foot long macerator hose that is included in the SewerSolution Macerator System for RV Waste Tanks # SS01.
For a 25 foot long... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and Tow Ready and I believe that I can help you locate a place to attach the brake controller red wire on your 2012 Cadillac SRX. The vehicle does have a dedicated stop light circuit located in the BCM (body control module).
The hardest part is going to be locating the BCM, but once you find it, it should be easy. The BCM is located under the left (driver) side of the dash. You will know it is the correct one because there will be 7 connectors plugged... view full answer...
I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2015 Cadillac SRX and it states that if you do not have the factory trailering package then the SRX has a maximum towing capacity of 2,500 pounds. With the factory trailering package the capacity increases to 3,500 pounds.
I wasn't able to determine what exactly is included with the factory tow package but I can say that installing aftermarket enhancement parts like a transmission cooler will not increase the towing capacity... view full answer...
The License Plate portion of the DWD Cadillac SRX License Plate, part # 307837 is constructed of stainless steel. The emblems attached to the plate are the same exact OEM emblems used on your SRX. The plate is the standard license plate size, as long as your SRX has the mounting location for a license plate, the plate will indeed fit your vehicle just fine. view full answer...
Great question, Bob!
The Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System # SM99251 actually activates the vacuum in your vehicle so the vehicle brakes work more naturally - it doesn't rely on the vehicle's vacuum system to operate.
If your vehicle happens to not utilize vacuum braking then there are provisions for this on page 16 of the installation instructions. view full answer...
Hey Tom, thanks for reaching out!
We have the Bike Rack Adapter # CC-125 that was made for the Stromberg Carlson cargo carrier, but it's pretty universal so as long as your carrier has a mesh base this will work.
Most carriers don't have a bike carrier add-on, but if you let me know what carrier you have, I can double check to see! view full answer...
Hello Bill, thanks for reaching out. If your 2015 Cadilac SRX has the factory tow package there will be a factory connector right behind the center of the rear bumper. I have included a few pictures below that should help you know what to look for. It should look like the female side of the black plug pictured below.
Provided you do have the tow package, the Curt # 56096 will be the correct wiring harness for you.
If you don't have the tow package, the only option will be a universal... view full answer...

To flat tow a 2013 Cadillac SRX you will not have to pull any fuses. You will however need a tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables to go along with your tow bar and base plates. If you haven't ordered these already then I have the following recommendations for you:
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit will allow you to use your Cadillac SRX's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your... view full answer...

Hello Walt, thanks for reaching out. The Bargman 30-84-022 is an older light that is sadly no longer available. The only similar light we have is the LED Trailer Tail Light w/ Reflector # DG52721PB. This is a dual lens LED light with a reflector in the middle. The light measures 11" long x 8" tall x 1-1/4" deep so it is slightly larger than your current Bargman lights. It uses w 5-wire pigtail just like your Bargman lights. view full answer...
Hey Fred, it looks like you referenced the Yakima StraightShot Hitch Extension part # Y69VR but this does not have anything that is threaded on it so I am wondering if your question was about a different product? view full answer...
I recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e55AR for your 2014 Cadillac SRX because it's the only option that has a matte black finish that blends in with any black trim on your Cadillac and hides scratches from road debris really well. The other hitches have a glossy black finish which is standard, but stands out a little more and it's easier to see scratches on that style.
If you don't already have a bike rack then I recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR because of... view full answer...
The TST TPMS System # TST-507-RV-4-C can be used to monitor 14 tires. This system can support up to 38 tires total. The monitor will allow you to cycle thru all 14 tires. The Blue Ox has a life expectancy of 8-10 years, Blue Ox does recommend replacing it at this point.
There are a few big differences between the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - RV Mount - 8K # RM-676 and the Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,000 lbs # BX7420. As you said, the Blue Ox is made of steel and the Roadmaster is made of aluminum. The Blue Ox has a weight capacity of 10,000 lbs, while the Roadmaster is 8,000... view full answer...
The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BX1690 is a fit for a 2010-2016 Cadillac SRX, therefore the installation of this product will be more or less the same on any vehicle within this year range so you can use the video below on a 2016 model to assist. If you don't already have a tow bar picked out, the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar part # BX7380 is what I recommend. view full answer...
The SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251 is compatible with your 2016 Cadillac SRX. However, as you mentioned the stop light circuit on this vehicle will go dead while in tow mode. Therefore, in order to power the monitor light you will need to run the red wire from this to the blue wire that goes between the breakaway switch and the operating unit.
I have attached a diagram to help with this as well. view full answer...
When installing a proportional brake controller, like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, the wiring (or connector) that you will need to connect to is typically under the driver side dash as you found. Because of this, brake controllers are usually installed either under the steering column or in the center control panel if there is a way to do so.
There is no specific place that a brake controller has to be installed, just as long as the wiring can reach where it needs to and that it is... view full answer...
