The Hayes Syncronizer Trailer Brake Controller -Time Delayed # HA81725 can be used on your 2015 Audi Q7. You will need to hardwire your controller, but I recommend using the wiring adapter # HA81789-HBC to allow you the quick connection so you can use this controller on other vehicles if desired. You will also need to use additional wiring as you pointed out. You will need to ask your authorized dealer for #1J0-972-782 housing (qty. 1) and #000-979-228 wire/terminal assemblies (qty.... view full answer...
If your 2009 Audi Q7 does not have a factory trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle then you will need to install both the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit part # 119250KIT and the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7 in order for a brake controller to work.
Trailer brake controllers are universal and can be adapted to fit any vehicle with the correct wiring harness. The correct wiring... view full answer...
Yes, the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack part # Y02634 is a fit for your 2017 Audi Q7 and an excellent choice at that. I have attached the fit notes for you on this rack as well as a few install photos. Please note that if any of your bikes have an alternative frame you will also need to use the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar part # Y02531.
- Outer/lower support frame rests on the lower portion of the license plate or well. When bikes are loaded, re-tension straps to ensure base pads only... view full answer...
For a hitch on your 2021 Audi Q7, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - 2" # e88KR. The etrailer comes with 700 pounds of maximum tongue weight and 7,000 pounds of gross towing weight, so it will give you the peace of mind knowing there won't be any weight issues. Also, as far as ground clearance, the distance between the ground and the opening of the receiver is about 12-1/4 inches. With that height, you will not run into dragging issues. I went ahead and linked a video of... view full answer...
While there are no major modifications or drilling required you will need to trim a small portion of the rear bumper fascia on your 2022 Audi Q7, for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13277 to fit. I have a included an image that shows where the fascia is trimmed. The receiver will mount between the frame and the bumper beam on your Audi.
The Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59236 will allow for you to add a 4-way flat trailer connector to your Audi. view full answer...
Thank you for the compliment!
1. Yes, the Snow Socks # TCH70 are the same as those textile ones and the only time that we ever recommend them is never. It's pretty much like wrapping a towel around your tires and hoping for the best (oversimplification, but that's about how helpful they are). We literally only carry them because some vehicle manufacturers say to use them (I have no idea why).
2. The Konig Easy Fit chains (Thule used to own them) are definitely some of the best chains... view full answer...
The license plate bracket item # Y74VR isn't needed or required to use the Yakima EXO Swing Away Carrier and Cargo Box item # Y94ZR but it is recommended to avoid any potential traffic stops. You're not supposed to block your rear license plate so you may run into an issue depending on what state you're in or traveling through.
The Yakima EXO Swing Away item # Y74VR weighs 142 lbs so you are going to want some help installing and removing it from your vehicle. The cargo box is 23" long... view full answer...
I have the perfect solution for you with the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR and Plug-In Wiring Adapter # TK22FR. To connect the Redarc to the adapter you will cut off the connector on the adapter that has the pins in a row instead of a box and then splice the pigtail from the Redarc to the wires on the adapter color for color.
I really like the Tow-Pro Elite because it has proportional and time-delay braking options for different towing situations plus everything about the controller can... view full answer...
Thanks for the picture! The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13277 you referenced is confirmed to fit your 2017 Audi Q7. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Audi with included hardware.
To be level you will typically want your ball mount to be within 3" of the height of your trailer's coupler. The receiver on your Audi will be right at 12" above the ground so you will want to use the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches item # C45338. This ball mount will give you 7" of rise.

The Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier part # RM-195125 isn't year, make, and model specific. It's designed for any vehicle with a 2" trailer hitch receiver with a bumper clearance of at least 6-3/4". In regards to spare tire compatibly, it works on any wheels with an even bolt pattern with bolt circle from 4-1/2" to 7" or an odd bolt pattern with bolt circle from 4" to 6-1/8". I have attached for you below a few photos of the above to clarify further. view full answer...
I certainly don't blame you for not wanting to splice any wiring, and I can verify for you that there is indeed a plug-in wiring harness for the P3 brake controller and your 2020 Audi Q7. What you will need are the following:
- Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195
- Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # TK22FR
You made a superb choice with the Prodigy P3 because it combines a high level of performance with reliability and ease of use. And since... view full answer...
For your teardrop camper build I recommend the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole # DM14791-97 over the Bulldog # BD028386 you were looking at. The latch style of the Demco is much easier and in my own personal opinion a safer design.
The eZ-Latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is... view full answer...
Installing a hitch and wiring on your 2017 Audi Q7 will not require any reprogramming for your rear sensors. These sensors are detecting objects and if they are moved slightly it will not cause any malfunctions. Your camera is in the rear hatch so it will not be removed during the installation
I recommend installing the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # 391AUDQ716T on your Q7. This will allow you to remove the 2" receiver or ball mount when not needed maintaining... view full answer...
I do have an option for you but there would be no way to attach a sway control mount to the Gen-Y Glyder Shock Absorbing Ball Mount part # 325-GH-12001. Instead, I recommend the Convert-A-Ball Dual-Cushioned, Adjustable Ball Mount part # CAB-UM which should then be able to used with the Reese Sway-Control Bracket part # RP26003. view full answer...

For attaching a Thule 725 ski rack to a set of Thule Aeroblade crossbars the adapter you'd need is the part # Xadapt2 which we have confirmed with Thule. This is only solution we can guarantee will work. view full answer...
Your 2018 Audi Q7 and the hitches that fit your vehicle are not rated for weight distribution so you wouldn't be able to use a kit but you could use a friction sway control unit like the # 83660 that you referenced which would do a great job reducing sway from passing semis and high winds.
The other thing you can do to reduce sway is by moving any cargo weight in the trailer and move it forward as that's typically what causes sway. view full answer...
Thanks for the photos, and based on them we do have what you need, which are over-the-hub disc brakes. The only thing you will need to verify is that you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern on your hub; it looks like you do but you'll want to be sure by measuring from the center of your hub's wheel stud hole to the farthest edge of the opposite stud.
If that measures 4-1/2 inches you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. I have also added a link below to a printable bolt hole template. Assuming... view full answer...
