Video Transcript for Winner International Wheel Locks - Vehicle Wheel Lock - WI490 Review

Today, we're going to take a look at the Wheel Club tire and wheel lock. This is a security wheel lock and anti-theft device for trailers, ATVs, and small vehicles. It is made of a weather-resistance, galvanized steel, very quick and easy to use, provides a visible theft deterrent. Has a covered key lock guard that'll guard against the elements on your lock cylinder. It does come with the two lock and keys. This is designed to fit anywhere from a 13-inch to 16-inch wheel.

It can fit tires up to 28 inches overall diameter and 9 inches wide. It does come as two pieces. I just want to show you how to install this. First, what you want to do is take your key, open up your cover, put your key in. Then, just turn it, and it'll unlock it. With it unlocked like that and what you'll want to do is just place the Wheel Club around the wheel.

Then, just open the arms up like that until this stand is all the way down just like that. Then, once you get it all the way open, you take the silver sliding, locking silver bar, slide it all the way in until it's around the tire. Then, once you get it to one of the holes, just push it a little bit more, then you can push that in. It'll lock it into one of the holes. It'll keep it in place.

Put your cover back on. See with it installed just like this, secured. This'll cover the whole wheel, prevent any dismantling and pretty much render it immobile. You see with the stand out here, it keeps it from rolling any which way. Then, just to remove it, all you have to do is pop open the cover, put your key in there. That'll unlock it.

Slide your bar out just like that, take your key out. Then, the other piece, you see will just compact down like that. Very simple to install and remove. But that should do it for the Wheel Club tire and wheel lock.

This looked to be the best value for the money. Keep in mind that this is only a deterrent. It would not take much to cut it off. While made of steel it is only tubing and not solid pieces. 327735

This products works well but is a bit fiddly to fit the first few times. It is highly visible, which is a good deterrent for thieves to move onto the next trailer while your trailer is in storage. 243726

I have not tested product yet but am responding to request to verify delivery. Item came to my home 22nd, box and product are undammaged. Working fine out of box. I look forward to trying this on my truck. 27350

Product design was very good. Product parts were not appropriate for my trailer wheel. My tire had a thickness of 5 inches. To fit appropriately a wheel needs to be 9 inches wide. I added an adjustment fix that worked. I hope. It would be nice to be able to purchase a stronger wheel lock. See picture for my "fix" Ray 411858

I am very happy with my wheel club. I am very aware that you can't stop a thief but you can make it difficult for them. The wheel club is very visible and says if you want this trailer you have to work for it. I have also ordered the steal shield for the hitch and have installed an alarm on my trailer. I sleep a lot better at night 149299

I bought 2 for extra security and these are really great wheel locks. I can't keep my boat in a area where I feel that it is safe from theft and these wheel locks make me feel more secure that it as safe as possible. They really are strong and simple to use with a key lock. 825185

By accident I found that this product did not work as intended. Forgot to take it off. When I started forward the trailer hopped one and it immediately popped off. It was bent pretty bad, but pretty easy to straighten back up which tells me it isn't very strong. With that said, it probably is a deterrent to most thieves. 804002

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Ford Edge and Wheel Chock Lock and for Aluma Trailer MC10 Trailer
For your wheel chock lock for your 13 inch trailer wheel, you have a few different options. You can use the Wheel Club - Tire and Wheel Lock # WI490, the CLUB Tire Claw XL - Wheel Lock # WI491 or the Club Tire Claw XL Wheel Lock with Lug Nut Protector Plate # WI491-491LNP. For your spare tire mount, I recommend the # FHDSTC0101 for the tongue of your trailer or the # FETCHL0700 which includes a lock. Finally for your bike rack, I need to know the year of your Ford Edge to get you...

  • Locking a Trailer that Uses Atwood Flat Nose Trailer Coupler 75074
What I recommend to keep someone from stealing your parked trailer is a wheel lock such as # RA-25 or a model that also covers the lug nuts such as # WI490. Usually the mere presence of a lock will cause a would-be thief to move on to another target. Coupler locks do not really work with coupler 75074 due to the unique design of the coupler.

  • Wheel Lock that Also Blocks Access to Lug Nuts
The Wheel Club # WI490 isn't going to make it easy to access the lug nuts but no, there isn't an adapter that complete covers them. For that I recommend a different version, # WI491-491LNP. I have linked a video review of it for you.

  • Wheel Lock for Keystone RV 5th Wheel
The Redline Wheel Lock Set, # RG01-150, is only made for ½ inch wheel bolts. For bolts of a different size, you'll need a lock like The Wheel Club Tire and Wheel Lock, # WI490, which fits over your tire rather than over your lug nuts. This model fits wheels from 13 to 16 inches and tires up to 28 inches in diameter, 9 inches in width. If you have wheels/tires of a different size, let me know what size you have and I'll be happy to recommend something else. I'm also attaching a link...

  • Way to Lock 5x8 Utility Trailer
I prefer wheel locks over coupler locks for trailers as they are harder to defeat and offer a more visible lock from a distance. I really like the Wheel Club part # WI490. As one of our customers put it, "The wheel club is very visible and says if you want this trailer you have to work for it." It prevents the wheel from rolling as well as would make it very difficult to remove the wheel if you wanted to. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Wheel Lug for 13 Inch Trailer Wheels with Baby Moon Hub Caps
it would be a very tight fit but it is possible for The Wheel Club # WI490 to fit your 13 inch tires with the baby moons on them. A safer bet would ne the Rack'em lock, # RA-25. It doesn't cover any part of the center of the wheel so the baby moons would not be in the way. I have included links to video reviews of both locks for you.

  • Can Wheel Lock Prevent Vehicle From Being Towed and Can It Fit Mitsubishi Gallant and Small Trailer
Depending on which wheel The Wheel Club - Tire and Wheel Lock, part # W1490, is mounted to will determine if a car can be towed. If the vehicle's non-drive wheels or wheels that are not powered by transmission are locked then this would prevent the vehicle from being towed. For example on a front wheel drive car, like your Mitsubishi Galant, if you were to put the wheel lock on the rear wheels, this would prevent the car from being towed by a traditional tow truck that tows the vehicle...

  • Will the Wheel Club - Tire and Wheel Lock # WI490 Fit the Tire on a 2010 Mazda CX7
The Wheel Club - Tire and Wheel Lock # WI490 will fit 13" - 16" wheels that have tires that are up to 28" in diameter and 9" in width. From the research that I did it looks like you might have 17" wheels on your 2010 Maxda CX-7 which means that the Tire and Wheel Lock would not be compatible. If you let me know what the size the tire on your CX-7 is, it will be found on the sidewall and look like 225/75-15, then I can confirm whether it fits or not. If you do have 17" tires then you...

The design of the Reese Goose Box adapters, such as # RP94716, prohibits the use of locks designed for standard gooseneck couplers. They cannot grab onto the coupler like they are supposed to. The highest rated and most popular 2-5/16 inch trailer coupler lock we carry is the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock, # DT25013KA. • Do Trailers have Common Wheel Lug Nut Sizes for a Wheel Lock
There are common lug nut sizes found on trailers: 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, and 5/8 but the most common is 1/2 inch. If you can tell me the trailer weight capacity and wheel size/bolt pattern I can verify if they are likely to be 1/2 inch or another size. If they are 1/2 inch we have wheel lock # RG01-150. Another option is a lock such as # WI490. With it the lug nut size won't matter. I have linked a video of this lock and included a link to the wheel locks we carry.

  • Wheel Lock Recommendation for a Dually Trailer Wheel Setup
The Rack'em Manufacturing Lock'em Magnum Wheel Lock # RA-25 that you referenced could possibly work on a dually trailer wheel setup, but depending on how much clearance you have between your tires it could be tight. For a better fitting option I would go with the Wheel Club part # WI490.

  • Why Cant a Regular Gooseneck Coupler Lock be Used on a Reese Goose Box Adapter
The Reese Goose Box adapters such as # RP94716 don't have a straight down-tube like a traditional gooseneck coupler so the locks for regular gooseneck couplers, such as # BLTL-53-40D2, will not work. They cannot grab onto the coupler like they are supposed to. To secure the trailer a wheel lock such as # WI490 or # RA-25 or something similar is recommended instead. If it were my bike and trailer, I'd use the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2" and 2-5/16" Couplers # DT25013KA. This coupler lock has a tube key lock cylinder to give better security and also has an anti-drill pin to discourage attempts to drill out the lock. master Lock trailer coupler lock # ML389DAT would be a bit more secure than lock # 377DAT in my opinion because it would be a little more difficult to pry off.
