When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This rear brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty pads with rotors that manage heat and deliver strong initial bite, so repeated stops stay smooth and predictable.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
New brake components require a break-in period before they deliver their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your rotors stay looking better between services without affecting braking performance.
Replacing brake rotors is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren rear wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2021 to current Ford F-150 with a 336 millimeter rotor. And on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle bit guide here at etrailer. Just input the year make and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Now, upgrading the suspension of your truck helps improve the ride quality. It helps reduce sag when you're towing or you're hauling. And it's gonna make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling. However, it does not reduce the extra workload that's placed on your factory brakes. So if you ever felt like that your truck takes longer to stop when you're towing a trailer, or your brakes are wearing out faster than you've expected, or the added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit is going to come into play.
This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads. These low metallic OnyxBite brake pads provide a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occur with frequent stopping when towing. So you're gonna notice more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip. Now these multi-layered rubber shims on the back are gonna help stabilize the brake pads during braking. It's gonna ultimately help reduce vibration, keeping the brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance.
So on your screen, the first picture that I have for you there, it's a closeup of one of the shims showing you the construction, the multi-layer design. The second photo shows a brake pad with that shim pulled off, again, just to give you a closer look of the brake pad itself. So these positive molded pads paired with these precision balance rotors are going to promote smooth, even braking, and more consistent pedal feel. Speaking of these rotors, these are OEM-style vented rotors, as you can see here. It's gonna help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing.
And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors. And they feature Timbren's OnyxBond nap black coating on the hat, veins, and outer edges. So as you know, heat is the enemy of brakes. So this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than the standard Geomet coating that's most commonly used on OEM parts. So this coating is also gonna help protect them from not only the heat, but the rust that's caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between surfaces without affecting the braking performance. By the way, these pads feature a bed encoating. It's indicated by those blue stripes that you see there on the pads. This is going to transfer to the rotor to protect it during the first stop. So you're gonna be able to enjoy that consistent braking performance sooner after installation. So this kit includes everything that you see here. You're gonna get the rotors, you're gonna get the pads, the hardware and the lubricant for your rear wheels. But if you're not really looking forward to doing the installation yourself, we have you covered on that front as well. On this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the install for you. So overall, if you've already upgraded the suspension on your truck and you have that smoother, more controlled ride, this brake kit is going to compliment that by really addressing the other part of that equation by giving you the stopping power and the confidence that you're looking for to better handle that extra weight of towing or hauling. And together it's gonna help give you a more safe, more capable towing setup and experience. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. Again, my name's Andy. Thanks for joining me.
