This SportRack bike rack provides a convenient and secure option for transporting three bikes, mounting quickly to your vehicle's trunk with an adjustable hub system. Hubs allow the rack frame to adjust to the shape of your specific vehicle to ensure a proper fit.

The hub system also lets you fold the rack flat for convenient storage when it's not in use.

The bike rack has dual support arms with soft rubber anti-sway cradles that hold your bikes securely in place without damaging the top tubes or the paint. Its cradles secure bikes to the rack with rubber straps and prevent both bike-to-bike and bike-to-car contact, either of which can scratch or abrade your paint.

Soft, cushioned pads on the bike rack frame further protect your trunk from gouges and scrapes.

The bike rack has six adjustable straps that attach the rack to your trunk or hatch snugly and securely.

Video Transcript for SportRack Trunk Bike Rack Review

Today, we will be reviewing the Sportrack Three-bike Anti-Sway trunk-mount bike rack, Part Number sr3152. This bike rack is also available in a two-bike trunk-mount rack, Part Number sr3161. Lets begin by pointing out some of the features of this particular bike rack. As you will see here, the bike rack is fully adjustable to accommodate many different trunk styles as well as rear hatch styles. As you will see here, the bike rack is easily adjustable by turning the two large knobs at the center of the rack. You will need to adjust this to fit the rear of your vehicle.

To tighten it into place, you will turn the knob and lock the two sides into place. You will notice that once you tighten down the knobs, there are teeth that will mesh together when the bike rack is fully tightened. You will also notice that there are four areas of padding that help protect your vehicle from being scratched by the bike rack. Now, lets go ahead and take a look at the cradles on this particular bike rack. Youll notice that there are straps that hold the front of the bike as well as the anti-sway cradle that hold back near the seat as well as to help hold your bike securely without damaging the top tube or the paint.

Each of the straps are fully adjustable with multiple locations that can be used to secure your bike to it. Youre also notice that all the bicycle cradles are fully adjustable as they can slide back and forth to accommodate different size and style bicycles. Now, youll also notice that there are six straps that have hooks on the end of it, two that will go on the top of your trunk or the top of your hatch, depending on the vehicle, two that will go out to the sides, as well as two that will hook to the bottom of your trunk, rear hatch, or even under the bumper in some instances. Each of the straps has a locking device that when you pull it tight will hold the strap tight. To release the strap, you will push on the lever, and the strap will be released.

Depending on the style of bicycle, you may need to use a bike adaptor bar to allow your bicycle to fit properly on this rack. This rack also will accommodate everything from road bikes, mountain bikes, ladies bikes, as well as childrens bikes. This particular bike rack has a weight capacity of 105 pounds. Now, were ready to go ahead and install our rack on our vehicle. Again, you will need to adjust the proper angle so that your bike rack is either level or slightly elevated to about 15 degrees.

Once you have this in place, go ahead and tighten down the two large knobs, locking the bike rack secure. Then well go ahead and take the two straps, and well hook to the top of the hatch or your trunk and pull them slightly to help keep the rack in place while we hook the other four straps. Then well go ahead and do the two side straps as well as the two bottom straps. You want to make sure that wherever you attach the straps with the hooks that they are not attached to fiberglass, plastic, or glass as this may damage your vehicle. Once we have all six straps in place, well go back and pull each of the straps tight. Now that you have all the straps pulled securely, well go ahead and bundle up the excess of the straps and use the other strap to help secure it to keep it from flapping in the breeze. Well repeat this on the other side of the vehicle as well. Now were ready to go ahead and install our bicycle. Well make sure that weve got both of the top cradle straps open as well as the anti-sway strap open. Now that we have all the straps opened, were ready to set our bicycle up in place. You want to make sure that the anti-sway cradle is up against the seat post. Once you have the bicycle set in the cradles, go ahead and take the straps and wrap them over the top of the frame, securing them back onto themselves. Next, well go ahead and take the strap thats attached to the bike rack and wrap it in a figure-of-eight pattern around the frame as well as the rack to keep the bicycle from swaying. Once you have the strap wrapped around the bicycle and the rack, you will squeeze the latch and feed the strap through it. Once thats done, go ahead and pull it tight, and this will help the bicycle from swinging on your rack. With that, our bikes loaded. Now were ready to go hit the road. We did notice during our test drive, the bicycle closest to the vehicle may come in contact with the vehicle, so you may need to add some protection between the bicycle and the rear of your vehicle. It is also recommended that after driving for a short distance with a bicycle rack on or driving over rough terrain, to stop and check that all bicycles are secured to the rack as well as the rack secured to the vehicle. That will do it for the review of the Sportrack Three-Bike Anti-Sway Trunk Mount Rack, Part Number sr3152 as well as the two-bike version of this rack, Part Number sr3161. .

I really liked this product, it was easy to set up and very secure on the back of my minivan. The bikes were held very securely and everything stayed in place without any marks on the vehicle. I would definitely recommend. 403995

  • Recommendation For Bike Rack Options To Carry 3 Bikes on 2010 BMW X3
  • I do have a solution for your to carry 3 bikes on your 2010 BMW X3 without installing a trailer hitch. What you will need to do is install a roof rack on your X3 and use 3 roof mounted bike racks. The roof racks we have available for the 2010 X3 are only compatible with the X3 models that feature the raised side rails. The Thule Roof Rack, parts # TH712400 and # TH710401, would be a roof rack I recommend for your 2010 BMW X3, which feature 53 inch crossbars. For a roof mounted bike...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for a 2011 Honda CR-V With Factory Roof Rack and Factory Rear Spoiler
  • It looks like a trailer hitch and hitch mounted bike rack are going to be the best way for you to carry three bikes on your 2011 Honda CR-V. I would not recommend using a trunk mounted bike rack because it could damage your spoiler. The top hooks of trunk mounted bike racks must secure to the top edge of the door which means they would have to go over your spoiler. Vehicle spoilers are not meant to handle a load of any kind and with the weight of the bike rack and bikes it could bend...

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2006 Honda Civic
  • The SportRack Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier, # SR3152, has not been determined to fit certain vehicles. However, this bike rack is a lot like the the Thule Passage, # TH910XT; which will fit your 2006 Honda Civic. So it is likely that it will fit, but I cannot say that it is a definite fit. Sportrack is Thules economy brand. If you think about it terms of good, better, best, the Sportrack model is good, but the Thule Passage 2, # TH910XT, is better. The Sportrack is designed to carry 3...

  • Will SportRack Trunk Mount Bike Rack # SR3152 Fit a 2005 Toyota Prius
  • The SportRack trunk mount bike rack # SR3152 is indeed listed as a fit for your 2005 Toyota Prius. I have also included a link to all of the trunk mount bike racks that will fit your Prius. If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing...

So you won't need to worry about the cradles sliding while you are driving down the road. This bike rack can carry 3 bikes and the weight capacity is 105 pounds. I have included a link to the trunk mounts that are a confirmed fit for your 2006 Chevy Equinox. For an economical 3 bike model that is a confirmed fit, go with the Passage 3, # TH911XT. • Bike Rack Will Not Slide All of the Way Into Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2002 Honda Civic
  • All of the trailer hitch receivers we have listed for your 2002 Honda Civic are Class I and must be used with Class I accessories. The Draw-Tite Class I trailer hitch receivers have a weld stop located inside the receiver tube to prevent the use of non Class I accessories. This is likely why your bike rack will not slide all the way into the receiver tube.
