Question:
Could you advise if this rack would work for a 2006 Equinox? I will also be pulling a 10foot popup camper. there will be a 29inch clearance between the back of the car and the front of the propane tank. Your thoughts?

The SportRack 3 Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier, # SR3152, is a universal fit item. As such it does not have a specific vehicle fit list like other bike racks so I cannot guarantee that it will fit. I have included a link to the trunk mounts that are a confirmed fit for your 2006 Chevy Equinox.
For an economical 3 bike model that is a confirmed fit, go with the Passage 3, # TH911XT. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the bike adapter bar # TH982XT, for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works.
The 29 inch clearance you mentioned probably will not be enough clearance, especially when turning. To get some more extension, you could use the longest ball mount that will fit like in the link I provided.
