16-5/8" Wide x 5-1/8" tall x 3/4" deep, high-quality, tube-fin heat exchanger improves the performance of your transmission and keeps it running longer. Premium tube and fin cooler with copper tubing and aluminum fins.

Features:

  • Improves functioning and overall performance of transmission
  • Extends life of transmission and prolongs period between necessary fluid changes
  • Cuts down on heat-related failures
  • Has built-in turbulators that agitate fluid for more efficient cooling
  • Designed with copper tubing expanded into aluminum fins for maximum heat transfer
    • Copper is the best material for conducting the heat out of the fluid, while aluminum is ideal for transferring and dissipating that heat
  • Protected from possible damage during installation by plastic fin guards and powder coat finish
  • Includes:
    • High-temperature, OEM spec hose with stainless steel clamps
    • Nylon mounting rods with pads
    • Bendable, metal mounting brackets
    • Insta-dapt radiator adapter
    • All necessary hardware
  • Recommended for compact cars
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Inlets: 11/32" hose barb
  • Overall dimensions: 16-5/8" wide x 5-1/8" tall x 3/4" deep
  • Core length: 13-3/4"
  • Distance between inlets: 3-3/4"
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

Perhaps the simplest type of heat exchanger, the tube-fin effectively cools a variety of automotive systems. The concept is simple: Fluid cools as it travels through the core by transferring heat out to the fins. The fins then provide the surface area necessary for sufficient heat exchange to take place, allowing the heat pulled from the fluid to dissipate into the surrounding air. Add to that the unique turbulator technology - whereby fluids are agitated continuously to not only facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure - and you have an easy and effective cooling system.

by:

Product came in good condition, only a few bent fins, most likely from the manufacture. Your box was in good shape.

by:

excellent and fast shipping but a time to we install the cooler the hose is not enough for the complete setup. I will have to buy more hose in another local store

by:

Easy install other than I needed to buy more hose to hook inline with my existing cooler. It took all but 6" just to get to a tranny line then another 3ft to reach cooler.

by:

Used as replacement for primary transmission cooler. Seemed to keep transmission cooler, but really noticed a difference after adding a slim line fan to the combination. Etrailer products and customer service always top notch.

by:

Great product easy to install by watching video

by:

Easy install on my 2007 Toyota Tacoma.

by:

Nice Cooler! This is the max size you can fit on Suburban/Tahoe 2007-2014.
My transmission is not overheating any more.
Thanks!

by:

The hoes that came with the kit was not long enough. other than that everything was fine.I also purchased radiator adapter fitting which I did not need

by:

delivered as ordered, on time. helpful vidio for install on my truck. I would order this product again .product should come with more hose and clamps.

by:

The Transmission Cooler Kit was exactly as described. Installation was easy. It seems to be performing well.

by:

Transmission cooler was a little larger than I needed I should've gone with a smaller one .had trouble fitting it in the suburban but we modify The suburban made it work. There was not enough transmission hose. So if you're install it in large vehicle need to get extra hose ,extra clams and tie wraps. Overall the transmission cooler works great and transmission is about 20° cooler.

Product arrived as described. I have not installed yet because i see that i will need some additional hose, and the vehicle specific adapter for the radiator trans cooler. I bought this unit for my 2001 dodge ram 1500 in preparation for a cross country drive that i would be pulling a trailer. My truck was a gift but it has 151,000 miles on it and everything is original equipment. It still runs strong I want to keep it running as long as possible. I'm sure I will have to replace the transmission at some point, but if this small investment can keep me going for a few thousand extra miles I'm going to be happy.

Nice quality. Very effective. Installed on '08 Chrysler Town & Country van with 3.8L engine. Thought website difficult to decipher best product for my application. Had to buy [online] a pair of couplers for the 11/32nds ID hose supplied (used to splice into tranny line (cost about $6). Should have been supplied.

This is my 1st after market trans cooler and i was always under the impressuon to get the biggest one that will fit. This is the biggest one without any modification. Easy install installed between a/c confessor and existing stock trans cooler bracket. I bypassed the engine radiator all together so I'm running 2 coolers the stock one and D13105. It's installed on a lifted with 35in tires 2012 silverado 6.2l 4x4 6l80 trans with the tow package. It's May 22 and 93 degrees the avg every day running temp before install was 193 now my running temp is 142, I ccouldn't believe how much of a difference the cooler made. I haven't tried it in 4x4 yet but I'm sure it's going to be just as good. This coming weekend is memorial day so I'm planning a weekend on the beach going to do some off road 4x4 and for sure pulling some stuck people out of the sand. If i can post and update of temps from the weekend I will .

"02" F250 7.3 Super Duty I found the service from etrailer to be very satisfactory. The product arrived in good shape and on time. The on-line video was very helpful. Installing went smooth with one exception. As mentioned in many other on-line reviews, there was not enough hose supplied with the unit. While I had not problem with needing to purchase a small amount of hose, the package indicated that it was to be 5/16" ID. While the supplied hose was made in China and the walls of that hose where very flexible, the Gates hose, (made in the USA) was very rigid and would not go on the stud of the cooler, requiring a second trip to the Auto parts store to purchase 4' of 3/8" hose. A 12 mile round trip. Also, required the purchase of a knurled ended 5/16" hose connection and on qt. of tyranny fluid. Total added cost of $20.20. Have not towed with it installed yet.

Since installing this transmission cooler I have no issues with it. I installed it a couple of inches in front of the radiator in my 4 Runner without issue. I would caution folks to do that and not mount it directly on the radiator, and to follow their instructions, do not cross the input and output hoses.

  • Finding the Transmission Cooler Return Lin on a 2004 Chevy Express
The easiest way to determine the return line on your 2004 Chevy Express transmission is to start the truck, shift into drive but do not go anywhere. After about 15 seconds or so put the truck back in park and apply the emergency brake. Turn off the truck. Out of the 2 hoses attached to the transmission, one should be warmer than the other. The one that is cooler is the return line. It may sound a little too easy but it works. Connecting the supplemental cooler, # D13102, to the return...

  • Transmission Cooler for Towing 5300 lb Trailer in the Mountains for 2007 Chevy Silverado 5.3L
Since you will be towing in the mountains, which is hard on a transmission, I would recommend getting the largest, highest rated transmission cooler that will fit your vehicle. You cannot over cool a transmission. The ideal install location would be in front of the radiator and A/C condenser, right behind the grille. The # D13102 you mentioned will provide some cooling, but due to the fact that you will be towing up and down mountains, it would be too small for your needs. The largest...

  • How Do I Install the Derale Series 7000 Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Part D13102
Yes, the coolest line will be the return line that you need to attach to either port on the transmission cooler. The transmission cooler is not directional. You may need a small amount of transmission fluid to top off the system after the installation. The transmission lines on your vehicle should have 3/8 inch fittings and one is provided with the High Performance Class III Transmission Cooler, item # HH41311. If you have a Chrysler, Jeep, Ford or GM vehicle you may need a vehicle specific...

  • High-Rated Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2007 Chrysler Aspen
You might need a more efficient transmission cooler for optimum cooling on your 2007 Chrysler Aspen. Stacked plate coolers are the most efficient, such as # D52506. If the cooler you have now is an aftermarket external cooler then you likely won't need additional parts to run the lines to and from it but you will need hose barb fittings that can mate up with the cooler, # D98200. Or you could get a kit, # D13403, which has a smaller core but it is still Class V rated.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for a 2007 Chrysler Aspen 5.7 Liter Hemi V-8
The transmission cooler # D13102 you referenced is recommended for compact cars although you can still use it. Checking the measurements of the potential area is key. I recommend you measure the space you have for installing a transmission cooler to gauge which cooler will fit best. Select the correct transmission cooler by determining where there is enough space to mount it. The best three positions to mount the transmission cooler in order.
