No issues at all.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

by:

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:

Direct replacement for factory socket.

  • Troubleshooting Newly Wired Trailer Lights With Right Side Not Working
It is likely there is a ground connection issue with that right side tail light. Often that ground connection is made through the mounting hardware so you want to make sure you have a clean bare metal connection. Use some sand paper to confirm the bare metal connection prior to reinstalling ground wire or mounting hardware. If that doesn't solve your lighting issue then use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test your wires an confirm the functions are getting to that tail light....

The Pollack 7-Pole, Trailer Connector Socket, # PK11893 is designed to be a replacement socket for vehicle that come with a factory 7-way connector. If your 2010 Porsche Cayenne came with a 7-way socket like this, then you can use this as a replacement. If you want to add a 7-way trailer connector on your vehicle that did not originally come with one, then you will first need to make sure that you have a 4-way flat connector. As long as you have a US Car Connector on your 2018 Volkswagen Atlas you can connect the Pollak Connector Socket # PK11893 OR the Hopkins Endurance # HM40920 to your vehicle. The US Car Connector is really the only connector that is a universal fit for many different manufacturers. Sometimes their connection points will crossover, but this is a common connector that is found on pickup trucks so there are multiple different connectors that will work with it. • Wiring A 3rd Brake Light On A Truck Cap On A 2002 Chevrolet S-10
You have a couple of places you can look for the center high mount stop light (CHMSL) circuit on your 2002 Chevrolet S-10. First, if you have a trailer connector at the back of your S-10 you can check beneath the truck where the trailer wiring runs underneath. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to determine if any of the wires in the loom are dedicated brake light wires. It would only show current when the brake pedal is pressed. • Troubleshooting Faint Taillight Functions on a Horse Trailer
A couple of things could be what's going on. First thing I would do is inspect both trailer connectors on your truck and trailer. Clean off the connection points as it sounds like you have some corrosion that is preventing the connection from being made. The next place to look is the grounds of the trailer. Each light assembly should be grounded to a clean metal surface. A lot of assemblies ground through the mounting hardware so make sure they are attached to a clean metal surface. Lastly,...

  • Factory 7-Way Replacement Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F Series Super Duty Truck
The truck manufacturers all decided to start using the same 7-way wiring harness connectors in the early 2000's, so the # PK11893 will fit all of them. I attached a picture that shows what the round connector looks like that the 7-way is designed to fit. As long as your 2014 Ford F Series Super Duty has/had a factory 7-way installed on it, or the connector is present, the part # PK11893 will be the correct part to use.

  • Troubleshooting Brake Controller Not Working On 2002 Chevy Silverado
Sounds like a blown CHMSL fuse on your truck. This is a very common problem for your generation GM truck that just stops the brake controller from working. This is actually the second time I have seen this exact problem today on your generation of truck. The CHMSL fuse controls the third brake light of the truck. I bet if you were to go out and look at the third brake light while a buddy hits the brakes it wouldn't come on.

  • Wiring a Truck Bed Camper Shell Brake Light on a 2007 Ford F-150
To wire a brake light only on a truck bed topper/camper shell you will need a dedicated brake light only circuit. Tow package wiring would not work because the brake light circuit and turn signal circuits are together. So you would either need to find a wire under the truck that is dedicated brake light only or you would need to tap into the CHMSL (center high mount stop lamp) circuit. Check the owners manual to see if the CHMSL is fused by itself or if the fuse handles other functions...

  • 7-way Trailer Connector Color Codes For Wiring In a 4-Pole Connector
There's more than one accepted wire color code convention for a 7-way trailer connector. Many times, a 4-pin connector would wire in color for color, but not always. On some 7-ways, the red wire will be left turn/brake lamp instead of the yellow wire. The brown wire will be right turn/brake lamp instead of the green wire. The green wire will be the taillights and the white, blue and black will be the same. It's usually better to wire by function than by wire color, because wire colors...

There may be a wire loom under the truck, above the spare tire with some tow package wires in it. If you cut back the loom, often times there will be 2 additional wires. The Light Blue wire provides a lead for a camper shell brake light. The other, a Light Green wire, is for the reverse lights.
