Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish

This wheel has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.

Beveled Stud Holes

The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" White Vesper Mod Wheel

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range D, mounted on this 15 inch Vesper white modular steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. We'll start with the steel wheel itself. This is a steel wheel, has the modular design, which is sturdy and corrosion resistant, and when we say modular design, that's the one you can see that has the round holes that go all the way around the wheel. This wheel uses a white acrylic enamel finish to resist chipping and other damage better than the powder coat finishes, and the finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment, and it covers an E-coat primer layer.

This does give you excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours. Now, the stud holds right here, when you go to install this, they are beveled stud holes, this will help keep your wheels securely in place on your trailer hub, eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now, the tire on this is a radial tire, it is constructed with the double steel belts and the double polyester cord, so it is great for highway use. They do use a nylon tread-firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation, and the tread is an automotive-grade tread design, and it has the sipes on the tread. If you look a little close at the blocks, you'll see these cuts in there, and those are called sipes, and what that does is that'll channel the water away from underneath the tire, helps improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Now, this is a special trailer tire design, it'll couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. It is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on other vehicles, and this tire wheels assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and will exceed your Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Does come with a two-year platinum plus warranty, which will include complimentary roadside assistance, and that service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Now, this wheel does not come with a center cap, if you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna get a center cap that'll have a diameter of 3.31 inches, that's the diameter of this pilot hole here, and this is where your cap will go through.

Few specs on the wheel, the diameter is 15 inches, the width on just the wheel is six inches wide, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs like this one, what you wanna do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either this hole or to this hole, either one, but the trick is when you measure it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole you measure to. So on this one, it'll measure 4 1/2 inches, so that means it's a 5 lug, 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20. Now, the weight capacity in just the wheel by itself is 2,835 pounds.

The tire size, which will be stamped on the side wall, ST for special trailer, 205/75R15, the R stands for radial tire. Section width on this tire is gonna be eight inches, overall diameter from the bottom to the very top when it's inflated is 27.1 inches. This is a Load Range D tire, which means it's an eight-ply rating. Does have a maximum load capacity of 2,150 pounds at 65 psi. And the last thing I do wanna mention, most all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating on them, and where the speed rating is, they'll designate it with a letter designation, and it's usually right after the size, so here's the size tire, and then you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then a letter M. Speed rating M will stand for 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on this Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in the Load Range D on this 15 inch Vesper white modular steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern..
