so I got these jacks to lift a full size #2000 slide in utility box out of the bed of my pickup truck. I knew they were too short to work but figured I could modify them. so here is how it went. 1. the first thing I noticed was the carriage bolts that keep the plate on that keeps the gearing concealed, well they were stripped and wouldn’t come off. this was consistent on all four of the jacks that I ordered. 2. so after cutting them off to reveal the gearing i found a good bit of grease in the gearing which is a good thing even though they do give you a grease zirk to ease in future greasing which is also good. 3. after tapping out the pin that releases the upper gear and the handle, I found the lower gear also comes off revealing a second pin that holds the outer casing over the screw jacks upper support ( the pin is also used to turn the lifting shaft when you turn the handle ). this seems like a design that will work fine for many years as long as the second pin doesn’t break as it is likely the weakest link in the system ( it doesn’t seem likely to break as long as the jacks inner and outer post sleeves don’t rust together, i also don’t foresee the weight rating to be an issue ). 4. once I had the outer sleeve off I found the upper support (that the lifting shaft screws into to extend the jack) was crimped into the inner sleeve (again not a problen as the weight rating is only #3000 lifting and #5000 static). 5. I cut off the crimped section and pulled out the upper support of the screw mechanism. this piece was a high quality piece of ( what appeared to be stainless) steel that also appeared to be cut from a cnc and it was easy to see what i had to do next. 6. I welded the upper support piece onto the top of a new stick of 3/16 thick 2x2 box tube steel that was 5' tall, this is my new inner sleeve and the only way to extend the jack. if its gonna be tall its gotta be strong. after cleaning the welds which penetrated both the upper support and the new box tube steel without flaw, I re-greased the screw shaft and re-assembled the entire product putting new carriage bolts into the gearing concealment plate. final thought, I was a bit concerned these jacks were a cheaply made product due to the bolts breaking at the very beginning however i was pleasantly corrected the further I broke down the jacks. i do believe they were a worthwhile investment as a necessary tool for the way i use my truck. ie i take this utility box in and out of the bed so i can haul large fifth wheel trailers as im a general contractor. i spent roughly $400 on 4 jacks and 4 sticks of 5' box tube steel and it took me roughly 6 hours to disassemble weld the new inners up and reassemble saving me $800 as the jacks intended for this particular utility box run about $1200 bucks. im a happy camper, good buy

Product has served its purpose very well

by:

This is new to our inventory line. Bulldog quality always lives up to it's reputation, this is a very nice jack. I really like the square mounting tube.

by:

Nice product handles lifting to height I need effortlessly. Only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is that the ball bearing in pin needs to extend out more or be bigger. Michigan roads are bumpy and I made a clip to securead it so it doesn't pop out. As I lost first jack due to pin popping out on bumpy roads

by:

An exact replacement for me that is stoutly constructed.Service was excellent but box was massively damaged on arrival. Holed on 3 sides with jack hanging out. Pretty sure I got everything that was placed in the box and the jack works.

by:

Excellent jack. I use them as tongue and stabilizer jacks.

by:

very satisfied ,I searched for hours looking for the right jack on line and found etrailer and they had the right jack for my chipper, etrailer shipped it right a way THANK YOU

by:

Well made jack of heavy gauge material. Operates smoothly. Does require either an existing mount or welding of the provided mount to your trailer.

by:

used on my log splitter. works great

The jack is good. A perfect replacement for the one I bent. I am glad I found it.

by:

Tried to buy this jack locally by stopping at three places, but couldn't. I received exactly what I was looking for and I didn't have to leave my house. Also, they had the best price on the internet. Shawn

This thing is great. Built like a tank, and I use it to stabilize a flatbed while I roll logs onto it, so the jack has to be able to take a beating.

by:

Lori was very helpful changing order when first items were out of stock. Jacks look well built. Delivery was sooner than expected. Thanks for great buying experience.

by:
