  Hey Ray, that is pretty odd to hear. If everything was done properly the welding of the jack shouldn't have affected anything in the jack's internals. If you can take the cap off the jack and look down maybe you can see what's going on. You can also take the drop leg off the jack and look up into it from there as well.

The closest option would be the Bulldog part # BD180455 which has a 7,200 lb capacity and does not have a pipe mount on the side of it.   Bulldog Square Jack # BD180455 has 3 tubes. The outer tube is 3 inches square. The inner leg is approximately 2-1/2 inches square. The outer tube thickness is approximately 1/8 of an inch thick and the inner is between 1/16 and 1/8 inches thick. The drop leg, which can be removed, is 2 inches square and the wall thickness is the same as the inner leg (between 1/16 and 1/8). The measurements are approximate because they vary ever so slightly due to manufacturing tolerances.
