Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The hitch is well made, looks good. The assembly should have been 5-10 minutes but the nuts would not spin freely by hand - had to use a wrench from the first thread (no I wasn’t cross-threading). Took me about 30 minutes due to having to turn a wrench a lot more in an uncomfortable/ confined area. Once installed though works well. This hitch is extended but I couldn’t find a dimension on the website- it’s 10” which is enough to get it roughly to the standard sized spare on a bronco. This is important for hitch mounted bike racks - and works well with my Küat rack (tho you still cannot fully open the rear door).

2023 Ford Bronco

[Customer Service Rep] that works at etrailer needs a -negative feed back. Zero help and a useless employee as far as I can see. As for the Hitch it's good 5 star. 4 bolts and 4 washers & 4 nuts. Pretty simple. I had to take the spare wheel & tire off the tail gate then 4 short bolts out of the bumper (2 on each side) then pick up on the bumper so I could get the 4 bolts through the frame and on through the hitch. 1 person can do this project but much easier with a helper. 30 minutes or less to complete.

by:

Receiver is great! Sticks out enough so you don't need an extension to use your bike rack.

Michael

Still holding up perfectly. No rusting or paint chipping anywhere.

by:

Perfect for Bronco; reciever extends back of spare tire making it convenient and secure for bike rack (no extender needed). Simply tilt down (1UP) bike rack to completely clear spare time & tailgate.

by:

Seems very sturdy. Bolts seem good. Holes lined up. Unfortunately on my first attempt to install I found there is about a 3/16" gap between the U-Flangs on the Hitch and the Frame Bar on the Bronco. The U-Flange is a fraction too big. There's no way I was going to be able to crank the bolts to get that U-Flange tight. So I uninstalled about halfway through the installation. I need to get some properly sized spacer bars - with holes - and slip those in between the Bronco Frame Bar and the U-Flange on the Hitch. Even then I'll probably need to crank the bolts down hard to get the Flange to properly seat against the Frame Bar. Not doing that will result in a hitch that rattles, or worse, one where the bolts work themselves loose.

2021 Ford Bronco

I replaced a factory Hitch Receiver with this Receiver to handle more weight and extend the Receiver. After replacing the Receiver I couldn't reinstall the 7-way plug adapter because it doesn't match the factory's mount. It shows it is for the 2021 Ford Bronco, so I thought they would be the same. I will have to make a mount to reattach the plug adapter.

by:

Easy install . Though the extended receiver takes some getting used to aesthetically, the convenience is great extending past the spare tire for quick hitching up. It also is a great step for tying up wader boots!

by:

Ordering was easy, and the receiver arrived quickly.
I was a little surprised there was no packing material within the box... just a 30 lb receiver in a larger than necessary box. I wasn't worried this behemoth was going to get damaged... my thought was, it might break the box (but thankfully, it didn't).

This is a solid product. As soon as I opened the box, I was instantly satisfied with the construction of this receiver.

I picked the Draw-Tite product for several reasons:
1. It has a higher tongue weight than the competition;
2. It has a higher tow rating than the competition;
3. It has a built-in mount for a wiring harness;
4. It extends further than the competition, so I will NOT need an extension for my hitch mount to clear my Bronco's spare tire to avoid the trailer jack; AND I will be able to partially open the tailgate, again, without a hitch mount extension.

Installation was a breeze. A box wrench; a socket/rachet; and a torque wrench, and it was installed using 4 bolts in about 10 minutes (be sure you install when the vehicle is cold, as you are working up against the muffler). It couldn't have been easier to install, and looks great!

by:

This hitch extends quite far beyond the bumper but it’s perfect for a Thule T2 bike rack allowing it to clear the spare tire.

Ford Five Hundred

Awesome hitch...just what I needed for my 2022 Bronco so I can carry my KTM 500 Six Days! Also, great customer service. Answered all my questions and was very helpful!

by:

Very easy installation and the longer length makes it work with a bicycle rack without an extension for the spare tire. If you can use a wrench you can install this hitch receiver.

by:

This is heavy duty hitch that comes with all of the needed parts - hitch, bolts, washers, etc. It took about 45 minutes to install on my 2022 Bronco Outer Banks.

by:
2023 Ford Bronco

Getting this installed today. ordered a new bike rack, so I can test it out this weekend.

by:

Perfect fit. Quick and easy installation. Time will tell but it seems as solid as any other receiver I've used.

by:

Flexible fingers are helpful, but this is a straightforward installation of a heavy duty hitch. The fit and finish is first rate and the hitch length works great for clearing the mounted spare without needing any extenders.

by:

Exactly what I needed and fast delivery. It was easy to navigate the web site, find what I needed and it was on the way to me the next day. 5

by:
2023 Ford Bronco

Good hitch bolts 2 long had 2 put another washer on

by:

Part of my 22 Bronco trailer hitch install. Bolted up perfectly, no need to remove the rear bumper to do it. Cheaper than dealer accessories.

by:
2023 Ford Bronco

Install could NOT have been any easier. Did not torque it but will have a mechanic do so when I bring in for any service. Less than 15 minutes.

by:

First, it is not a direct replacement of the factory hitch. rear bumper has
to be removed to install.rew bracket has to be fabricated for trailer wire
connector.. and at that point, 1/4 inch to wide and unless a spacer is made,
you would have to crush the mounting area that amount to torque to 75 lbs.

by:
2022 Ford Bronco

This went in as exactly as described. Took me about 30 minutes and most of that was just getting ready to put it on. I had bought one on[line retailer] thinking I was going to save money (another brand) and it required you to REMOVE THE BUMPER.
Turns out this one was cheaper than [online store] and was fast and easy and better.

by:

Easy install. Lines up perfect to Bronco pre drilled holes in frame. Installation about 20 minutes total. Follow video for how to angle bolts and you are close to muffler so do it on cold engine. Comes out nicely away from frame for larger spare see pic.

by:

Quick ship, 2 days earlier than advertised! Excellent product. Great price. Easy installation.

by:

Built solid, great hitch! A little tough to put on but that might be due to the black Diamond steel bumper instead the base-level plastic. Make sure you have a low-profile torque wrench or the muffler will get in your way

by:

Works great and the fact that they engineered in more length so that it will clear oversized spare tires is awesome. The install was fairly easy except the hitch is not designed to accept the factory wiring plug setup. I had to fabricate a bracket to mate the two together. Otherwise it is a terrific product so far.

  • Difference Between Curt and Draw-Tite Hitch for 2024 Ford Bronco
There are two key differences between the Draw-Tite # DT37GR and Curt # C76WR for your 2024 Ford Bronco. The first is the capacity. The Draw-Tite has a max gross trailer weight of 4,500 lbs and tongue weight of 675 lbs while the Curt is 3,500/350. Depending on the Bronco model you have your towing capacity is either 3,500 or 4,500 lbs so I recommend checking your owner's manual to be sure. The other main difference is the receiver length.
