Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F-150, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Custom Fit, Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver. Offering the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, it's part number is 76136.Here's what your hitch is going to look like installed. As you can see, the end of it's going to be about flush with the bumper. It gives us a really nice, kind of a factory style look, and something I really appreciate about it, the cross tube is hidden up behind the bumper. You're not adding a whole lot visually to the rear of the vehicle. It's just going to get a lot of usefulness out of your Class 3 hitch.Now Class 3 hitches are one of the most versatile hitches on the market.

It's designed with a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. When it's time to secure those items, you want to use the forward pin hole. It's a little bit larger. It's five-eighths of an inch in diameter. You want to choose a Class 3 rated accessory, but you'll have plenty of room no matter what type you want to use, whether it's just maybe a pin and clip, a locking hitch pin or anti-rattle device.That smaller hole is for use with the J-pin stabilization system, which is an anti-rattle device.

It just keeps whatever you have in the hitch from moving and wiggling around a lot.Our safety chain connection points are going to be a rounded steel stack, you can see here. For your smaller utility style trailer hooks, won't have any problem with clearance or interference. As you can see, the same even if you go with the great big inaudible 00:01:22 style hook.As far as weight ratings on our hitch go, it's going to offer a 900 pound tongue weight. That's the maximum downward force we can put here at the receiver tube opening, and we have a 6,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That would be the total weight of your trailer and anything you we're going to load up on it.It is also rated for use with weight distribution.

If you use weight distribution, the tongue weight goes up to 1,000 pounds. The gross trailer weight is going to go 10,000 pounds, but you're certainly going to want to look at your owner's manual to see what the truck's rated for, and go off of whichever of those numbers are the lowest.You will have a four-pole wiring bracket mounted here, but you'll also notice a welded on tab. That's going to have three pre-drilled holes there, so if you wanted to attach a seven-pole bracket if you're going to upgrade from that four-pole to a seven-pole, you would be able to attach it right there and have your plug located where it's easily accessible.Now a few measurements you'll find helpful for selecting your ball mount, bike rack, or hitch cargo carrier, will be from the ground to the inside tap edge of a receiver tube opening, we're going to have about 19 and a quarter inches. Then from the center of our hitch pin holder to the outer most edge of our bumper, it's about two and a quarter.Then to begin the installation process, there's going to be a ground wire, right up behind the bumper on this frame rail. We need to remove that with a 10 millimeter socket.

We'll just get that up and out of the way for now. We're going to be reinstalling that later. Now we've got our U-shaped spacer block that we need to put in place. This is designed to make up this gap. You can see how it's recessed with that in there. As we tighten down our hitch, it's going to have something solid to tighten down to. It needs to be over that larger hole. You want to tape that so it fits right over top of there. Now, of course, we're going to need an opening in the tape, so we can bring our bolt through with our pull wire. So, it's about like that. We want to do that on both sides.Now to get our hardware in place, we're going to take that pull wire and we want it to come out of the hole right here in the back of the frame rail. Like that. Square hole spacer block goes on, and thread on one of our carriage bolts. Now we want to put the spacer block in the frame rail. Put the bolts in. And what we'll do is set it up to where our bolt engages the spacer block, but then just let it kind of rest right back in the frame rail like that. We're going to follow that same process for this hole using the access hole here on the back. Now we'll head over to the driver's side where we can repeat that same process. Now we should also be able to slide our square spacer that has the round hole, and then just let them rest on those pull wires. We want that to be in between our hitch as we tighten it down.Now with the help of an extra set of hands, we're ready to get our hitch lifted into position. We need to take our pull wires through the outside of the hitch down through and we'll use these to guide our hitch up into position, and we'll widen the holes in our side plates with our bolt locations. And you see you're just going to draw those through. And we get our hardware put in place. Now on each carriage bolt, we'll place a conical tooth washer and one of our hex nuts. You want to be sure that you have the teeth of those washers facing toward our hitch. And we'll do the same thing on the driver side.Now we'll go through and we want to snug down our hardware. Of course, having your spare tire out of the way is going make this job a lot easier. Now we'll get these torqued down to the specifications listed in our instructions. These nuts are going to require a 24 millimeter socket, so keep that in mind.Now we'll take the old bolts out of our ground wire there. We're going to be replacing it with a new longer bolt. It's a small hex bolt. We're going to have a flat washer and lock washer on it. We'll get this bolt threaded in. It'll go through the hole in the hitch there, which will lead right to that weld nut we originally removed it from. We'll tighten that down with a 13 millimeter. And we can put our spare tire back up in position, and our hitch will be ready for use.That's going to complete our installation of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Custom Fit, Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76136, on our 2018 Ford F-150.

Nice quality hitch. Watched one of your related how to videos so install was easy. Did it by myself so used some heavy duty zip ties to help me get it into position so I could bolt it down. Only down side was one of the nuts was the wrong size. Fortunately, I checked the parts bag upon delivery and made a quick trip to the hardware store and 50 cents later, back in business. The hitch mounted fine but it takes more than the time that they state if you are doing it yourself. Assemble the front two bolts first and then you can swing the hitch towards the rear to do the other two bolts. The box that the hitch came in was damaged and the hitch also had paint chipped off. They need to do a better job with the shipping box that they use. Overall it fit and all is good 617825
